Commander Keen

Commander Keen was a video game series originally on DOS created by id Software.

There never was an official 'Universe is Toast' trilogy, because other projects like Wolfenstein 3D were more interesting for the market. Nevertheless, fans created an unofficial trilogy and many other mods, which can be played using Commander Genius.

Games

Place your Commander Keen Games in:

/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/cgenius/games/<gamename>/

It is recommended to use keen1, keen2, keen3 etc. for the gamename.
A typical set of files look like this (example taken from commander Keen 5):

Please note that for Commander Keen 6, the executable KEEN6C.EXE will not work with Commander Genius (If you have this version, it is from an unofficial source and was originally created to remove the 'creature question' at the start of the game, which asked you for information on the names of some of the enemies from the user manual).

Commander Genius removes this prompt from the official version in the emulator anyway, but it requires the KEEN6.EXE file from the official game to be used. (If you are having issues getting your legitimate Keen 6 copy to launch, make sure you patch it to version 1.4!)

Once the relevant files are copied to the folder locations you can then select the games from the Commander Genius Launch Menu.
