    Perfect. This is exactly where it was. I also had to make hidden files visible.

    @administrators @obsidianspider hmmm Interesting.

    I probably misunderstood @RobotLimeLtd reply. On my version 4.1, yes I did have the SegaCD bios file in the bios folder. That I know does work. When I went to go update to 4.2. I simply formatted my sd card so there is nothing on it. Installed RetroPie 4.2. Plugged in my USB that has all the roms, bios, configs just like if your adding a new game (not over the internet). If that makes sense. All my games such as NES, MegaDrive, Atari, PS1 (which has bios) all works fine. SegaCD does not. I never once tinkered with where the files.

    I love the new fixes on it though.

    @administrators " you've modified something on your system that has changed the defaults." What modifications can I have done to make it change? I only have changed the occasional ES themes and changed the splash screen.

    Overall thanks for the responses!! Means a lot. I may just install the new update at a later time.

    @edmaul69

    I think this simple HDMI audio switch should really be somewhat front and centre with the audio config tool right now.

    Some of us have been spoilt with how slick the jeos solutions are for kodi I think where everything just works (e.g. Openelec, Libreelec). Retropie is a great project, but it's got a way to go to bring all the config into the main gui, etc.. But this thing has been asked enough times that it should be sorted out properly.
    It's the #1 first stop here even https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/sound-issues

    SOLVED..?!?!

    So no real explanation. I came home, scratched my head a few minutes, made sure my files were not set to read only, reinstalled the advmame packages, double checked my placements and linkage, rebooted the entire house... and it works now. Three randomly picked games loaded up. I need to map keys but yes, this is awesome.

    In the attract mode motion blue & hyperpie, the sega and atari circuit board system display layouts pull from the advmame set, and it turned out to be one of the only sets I don't have, so this was awesome, not sure what all was wrong here.

    Thanks again to everyone's help on this

    @dowobeha

    my controller has a D-pad, a left analog stick, and a right analog stick. I would like all three of these to act as movement controllers when in the NES emulator.

    You can mirror the DPad the the left or right joystick for the NES specifically by adding:

    input_player1_analog_dpad_mode = "1"

    for the left stick, or:

    input_player1_analog_dpad_mode = "2"

    for the right stick to /opt/retropie/configs/nes/retroarch.cfg. To mirror the DPad to both sticks at the same time, as well as your other requests, you'd need to employ an external mapping solution such as Linux Joystick Mapper or xboxdrv.

    Thanks for responding!

    I didn't realize that es_log.txt was an error log (again, I'm very foolishly new at this), and I've located the problem! The font in question needed to be a "TrueType font," and any other type like an OpenFont is apparently cause for error, which I didn't know. I cleaned out the folder and reset all default properties, and now it works like a dream!

    You guys are the best! Thanks!

    @RobotLimeLtd That is not the default for retropie - default retropie has

    # Sets the "system" directory. # Implementations can query for this directory to load BIOSes, system-specific configs, etc. system_directory = "/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS"

    in configs/all/retroarch.cfg - perhaps you overwrote the config?

    @Bender2k no bt problems here. Do you have a heatsink on your processor? If so it could be causing issues. You could try turning the heatsink 90 degrees so the heatsink fins are facing another direction. The heatsink can act like an antenna and cause issues. Other than that not sure what to tell you to help you.
