    @TheiMacNoob

    Sounds like you may need to reconfigure your controller.

    @senkun said in PiTFT Plus 480x320 3.5" TFT screen and a Raspberry PI 3 cannot run RetroPie:

    @babybunny said :

    Yes I have the same boot/config.txt but im trying to run retropie not Jessie Raspbian.

    Yes, I understand that. Whichever way you ended up with Retropie, either by an install over Jessie or from a direct image, I had assumed you meant retropie.

    When you said;

    The screen runs perfectly with the latest Jessie Raspbian image, but does not run with RetroPie, just a white or black screen.
    RetroPie will show up on my HDMI monitor just fine, but it will not show on the 3.5 Pitft.

    I had assumed you meant your retropie install shows up on hdmi but not on the TFT. Is this not the case?

    Retropie will display on my HDMI monitor but not on the TFT, yes this is the case. I have decided to give up on the PiTFT Plus 480x320 3.5" TFT+Touchscreen and will try the PiTFT Plus 320x240 3.2" TFT + Resistive Touchscreen when it arrives in the mail. I am glad all these parts don't cost too much money. Adafruit has stated that this 3.2 inch PITFT is exactly like the 2.8 PITFT in all regards; same driver, same resolution, the only difference is that its a little bigger, and the raspberry pi itself wont know the difference either, which leads me to believe that it will work with Retropie natively. I will let you know if it doesn't. Thank you for your support.
    Thread can be closed for now. Bye.

    @simonster That won't help him since those kernel headers do not match the kernel he is required to run for the drivers for the screen. He needs the kernel headers that match the kernel version he is running.

    Note - On current RetroPie, you do not need to install raspberrypi-kernel-headers since the gamecondriver module does it automatically.

    @rbaker Hey thanks for your reply. At the moment I have a wireless keyboard connected that uses it's own USB dongle as an input device. I haven't seen the rainbow square in the corner, and i'm currently using a 5v, 2.5a power supply. I'm gonna see if I can find a way to power it externally as that would give a good indication if it's the fan or not, and hopefully i'll be able to get a lend of a multi-meter next week to check the pins. As i said in the previous comment, if anything this will at least be a learning experience for me to get to grips with the pi lol

    If you have lag, it is likely related primarily to your screen - There are other posts on the forum, and make sure your screen is in Game mode if it has one.

    Thanks. Something must have gone wrong when I last rebuilt the binaries for that. I have updated the binaries now so everything should be fine for the next image. You can reinstall from binary to get the latest version I have just prepared.

    I too am running into this issue and I can't seem to pinpoint what's actually causing it. I am also a complete noob to Linux. This is actually the very first time I have ever used linux. So please be as simple as you can with you explanations. If need be I am a sucker for studying Glossary's. :D

    Pi Model: 3
    RetroPie Version Used: 3.8.1
    USB Devices connected: 1 keyboard, 1 Xbox 360 wired fightstick controller, 1 Microsoft wireless dongle
    Controller used: MadCatz Xbox 360 BrawlPad
    Error messages received: N/A
    Guide used: Followed 2 guides. One was a

    about the xbox 360 wireless controller configuration The other was on wiki for adding PSX BIOS and ROMS.
    File: N/A
    Emulator: N/A
    Attachment of config files: Not sure which config. are actually needed?
    How to replicate the problem: Basically I have my Retropie in a state the it runs and works flawlessly. Now when trying to add anything to it upon reboot it seems like the whole screen is shifted down except for the UI. Also besides there being the white bar at the top none of my usb devices seems to work and the only way to fix it is by removing the files and rebooting using the terminal from my PC

    @Concat I didn't use scraper before. I thought for sure it was a Emulationstation setting; however, that section looks like it will work for me.

    I haven't tried 'scraping' on this new setup. I want to get it working before I try it.

    Thanks for the help

    @Josh-I said in Removing systems from retropie:

    Is there anyway to remove systems like Amiga, Apple 2, etc. By just using the controller and accessing through a menu rather then doing it through a computer?

    Thanks, Josh

    Edit: My understanding is that when you are looking through your various emulators with Emulation Station, you only want to see the ones you use.

    The way I do it is via FTP. I haven't tried through the menus, though I think it can be done but you would need a usb keyboard connected to your pi.

    In /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/, create a folder, I like to call mine "_unused" without the quotes, so it is always listed on top Move all unwanted emulator ROM folders to: /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/_unused Restart Emulation Station You'll now see only the emulators in the root of /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ that are not in a subdirectory

    Does this make sense?

    Hi

    I've achieved the same result by opening the RetroArch menu in lr emulators.

    I can do this by pressing SELECT and X at the same time (using RetroPie's default buttons). I press the same combination to exit the menu and continue.

    @caver01 said in Configuring <CODE_NOT> Control Mapping in lr-MAME2003?:

    @dankcushions I can appreciate that, but it seems lr-mame2010 has it figured out. Maybe apples and oranges, but the double keys aren't showing up there.

    i think 2010 gets around it by making mame think a connected gamepad is a keyboard, so it never actually detects gamepads as gamepads, but as the virtual keyboard (i think in the tab menu it will always show up as "Kbd PX...". player 2 SHOULD work (the code is there.. possibly bugged), but player 3 and up won't work i believe, because it only maps 2 virtual keyboards. so this isn't a good solution, but a hack that happens to help in this specific situation.

    that's my theory from the code, but i can't test it because i can't connect pads to my mac and can't be bothered to compile it on the pi :)

    interestingly, i just found out that mame2010 runs killer instinct 2... at least on my mac.

    Hi,

    I have not had the issue with the controller yet but I would take a look at your dreamcast's keymappings.
