After doing what @Brigane suggested, I believe you can uninstall Attract Mode from the RetroPie-Setup.

Hi, see my post here. Exactly the same issue as you. I noticed a similar fault with Yoshi's Story too.

Damned if I know what's causing it, but it's not just you!

i was about to change OVERCLOCKING to "2x" in fcumm core options (some time ago i enabled NO SPRITE LIMIT and it saved my setting without a problems) and after pressing the SAVE CORE OVERRIDES it did not save my setting. so ive tried the SAVE ON EXIT option and it doesn't work also. then i saved regular configuration and it showed me "Failed saving config to "/opt/retropie/configs/nes/retroarch.cfg"" blablabla.

then i have tried your solution and saved config to a new file and it works. i mean it saved cofiguration but then i realize that option i wish to change is in core options so it does not help. so then again ive tied to save core setting and now it said OVERRIDES SAVED SUCCEFULLY but after closing a game and start a new one core options still remain unchanged.

i decided to edit "retroarch-core-options.cfg" file by hand via scp and this method worked for me. finally i set overclockin to 2x, but it pretty strange why i cannot do it via retropie itself. still looking for solution.

@simonster thank you for your very much, your suggestion guide me to this "temporary solution" ;)
maybe someone else sharing the same problem as me ?
    cheers

    edit:
    even more wierd thing happend:
so happy that i fixed my problem i decided to test it. so i changed OVERCLOCKING to "DISABLED" and saved my core setting. it showed me that save was succesfull (i was not suprissed and was expecting nothing) but after starting a new game OVERCLOCKING option remain DISABLED so core setting actually saved. i was thinking is working now but after switching to "2x" and saving nothing happend. i dont know what is going on.

    edit2:
    even better
after changing OVERCLOCKING to disabled and exit game without saving config the option remain DISABLED (mind blown). i got crazy ;) HELP, can someone check it in own device ? ;)

  • My configs are not saving.

    @AlexMurphy
I liked the setup, and didn't care about the space. I had a 16 gb SD card, but played (all most) everything from usb.
On the Kodi side, it connects to my Nas so I don't need a large expensive SD card.

@simonster Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately for me, I'm using the Pi Zero. I haven't tried a lot of GBA games yet, but lr-gbSP is much better at playing games on the Zero than lr-mgba is.

Ok... i think i can realize it with the child friendly extension.
The Child friendly extension can Tag as favorites, but don't list the games on a favorites list. It only can filter by favorites 😒

I tend to leave them zipped for the older consoles but any cd based system I unzip them as they are usually slightly faster to be read by the emulator as they do not need decompressing

@pjft So I tried the sudo vcdbg reloc. Unfortunately, I'm doing this on an old 720 resolution projection screen TV at the moment, so everything in the console is pretty unreadable. Is there anyway that I could direct that output to a file so I can post the results here? I don't know if I would understand the output on my own even if I could read it.

What I have noticed is that EmulationStation seems to load quicker, now that I've changed the VRAM limit to 50MB. Also, I now have the ability to load games in Atari5200 and SNES again even with the four Atari Gamelist.xml files loaded up.

Unfortunately, after loading a game and coming back out to the EmulationStation main menu, I'm still having that issue with the icons flashing white again, and it seems to get worse after trying out a few emulators.

I'll let you know how long it takes for me to "break" it again once I start adding more XML files and artwork. I should be starting making some new ones some time this weekend if the program beta is created on schedule.

Here's the thread about that, if you haven't seen it already: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/10406/making-premade-gamelist-xml-with-xtra-media-collections

    EDIT:

Here's a list of the systems and how many roms I have for them. Only the Atari systems have a gamelist.xml and artwork at this point:

    Atari 2600: 723
    Atari 5200: 94
    Atari 7800: 85
    Atari LYNX: 85
    Nintendo; 1721
    Super Nintendo: 1141
    Gameboy: 668
    Gameboy Color: 595
    Gameboy Advance: 1117
    Sega Genesis: 951
    Sega Master System: 320
    Sega Game Gear: 308
    Sega SG-1000: 66
    Turbo Grafx 16: 220
    Colecovision: 189

    Total Systems: 15
    Total Games: 8,283

@antnned read up on the docs on this site. You can use the menu to exit emlationststion to the command line. I believe F4 on the keyboard also works.

I prefer to us Ssh. I use putty. For editing Es_systems.cfg I typically is an ftp client like WinSCP.

hey guys! by chance do you know if this feature is gone in 4.2 or for a pie zero gameboy?
when i enable images in config section it just shows an enlarged image for just some games, not all, but was hoping there was a zoom function like i also have seen in videos on youtube.

    any help would be great

After you try to launch a Super Famicom game, what is in this file?
    /dev/shm/runcommand.log

Hopefully this will give us a clue as to what is happening.

If it means anything you should try the lr-mupen64plus. I noticed with some games such as super smash bros that it performed better then the stand alones. So it's really a trial and error to get the right emulator for the right game.
