@windg usbmount is included in the image, but not in the manual installation. if you install via a manual installation, as it appears you have done, you will have to manually install it after the fact via the packages menu.

@muldjord success! I updated and scraped and all the culprits were found correctly (two weren't but they always were tricky ones to scrape so not an issue).

The save file is done by RetroArch, which I haven't heard or see to work that (doesn't matter the which core is used).

@IowaBrewer I know its a bit late but i had these issues with my old pi2 it was the cheap nasty usb cable i was using. I bought a decent one and my power supply's worked well. The same thing happens with the dirt cheap hdmi cables as well sometimes.

Your disk (sdcard) is also full, so clear up some space (delete some roms maybe) before attempting to run anything.

Try resetting the retroarch.cfg - the global configuration file - in \\retropie\configs\all. Replace it with the retroarch.cfg.rp-dist from the same folder.
However, if you used a remap/input override, this won't help.

@mitu Sorry about that, like I said I'm new to this- I really appreciate your patience. I just chose to start Emulation Station at bootup and have gone into RetroPie setup and can see it now works fine. Thanks for your help, I can find youtube clips for now for help installing roms. So I went back and looked it up. It was in the autostart.sh. I deleted a line and it works and I still get to keep my background music. Thanks for your time :).

It has nothing to do with the modules, there's something related to the kernel files copied by rpi-update which breaks the compilation - see https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues/1364.

Are you controllers connected via USB ? If so, do other USB devices work - it might be an USB connector problem. I assume you tried to configure the (new) USB controller in EmulationStation and this is where it's not working ?

Fixed it, though I'm not sure what is going on... let me explain.

If you look at my prboom.cfg file you will see this line for my pWAD file.

wadfile_1 "SIGIL.wad"

Now inside of PrBOOM it show the wad file as SIGIL.WAD"

I used my controller and was able to delete the quote symbol off the end and now it works like it was supposed to. The odd thing though is that my prboom.cfg file looks exactly as it did before.

What's that all about?

@mbison have you looked at this page of the docs? There's a graphic for the controller and the switches on the console itself.

I don't really play around with the 2600 but it's a bigger push in the right direction.

Yes you are right, it started that way. But then, at one point after some re-installations as documented here, I noticed the combo of "start + select" suddenly working for getting out of games. It wasn't that way from the beginning.
Now it's only the VKBD-issue left.

I have same problem but not with all games, some games when I press player 1 fire button on a co-op game it works on the second player? checked the dragon encoders and all wired exactly the same on both encoders?
