@Ranma Remember to turn off less accurate blending for this game as well. There are visual glitches if its turned on.

Actually I really didn't solve it, the load time was so long initially i thought it was stuck.
It eventually loaded and after a couple reboots it loads normally now.

Thank you for all the help, but i gave in last night after spending another couple hours install --reinstalling everything i could think of. That particular package wasnt in my list, but good to know in the future.

Obviously i did something that caused this and it seems to be related to the nvidia driver used so theres a pretty good chance ill run into this again at some point since all my workstations (including at work) run linux with some that do have nvidia cards.

I wish i knew exactly how i did it though...I even went as far as setting up another workstation retracing my steps exactly as i thought i did at home and could not reproduce the issue.
I believe i also had a couple ports open running to the machine for when it ran windows, but i dont think theyre open by default in ubuntu (666, 3389) so maybe, but maybe not...

Anyhow thank you for much for the help!

The core means which emulator are you using for the running the game. You need to use the exact version of it and also the exact ROM on both systems. Since you're running a Megadrive rom, the core should be either lr-picodrive (I think this is the default) or lr-genesis-plus-gx (see the Megadrive docs).

Thank you for your response, sorry for not providing all info. Just from your post I was able to figure it out and have Netplay working / connecting now! However, it seems as though the controllers do not work in a lot of the games while on Netplay. I have tried using different emulators to no avail. An example is Street Fighter II for Genesis, Player 1 controller works fine, but player 2 controller doesn't work at all. Tried a keyboard as well, both which work fine not in Netplay.

@box4me Btw, is this your site ? Are you by any chance selling RetroPie with arcade cabinets ? Are you also including ROMs with your cabinets ?

I know why I was getting that weird error now, it was related to having '&' in the name of a game. My example didn't help matters seeing as I didn't type '&'.

The list it generates still doesn't have the games I haven't picked, for example say the arcade rom folder has 300 games and the gamelist.xml file lists 200 roms. There's still 100 games that I have to manually pick in order for them to appear in the gamelist.xml file.

I think you can do it yourself - just edit your initial post.

This seems like a Switch only device - I can't find any reference that it works on a PC or compatible system. You can try running jstest to check if the D-Pad is detected by the system - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#determining-button-values.

What were the eventual settings and / or files you needed to get this operational?

@Raleighguy The concurrency is set automatically, based on the #of CPUs you have and the system you're running on. On a PI3, it's probably 2, since it doesn't have enough memory and CPU anyway to sustain 4 compilation threads.

Right now when I booted up the Pi it "mounted" the ROMs perfectly. So it seems to happen spontaneously - weird.

I recently added overlays to my retropie emulators and have had perfect luck with NES and GB, however, my GBC emulator(s) will not show the bezels even though I can select them fine. I have tried all three GBC emulators with the same issue. All overlay files are stored in the correct folder.... Super confused as to why they'd work flawlessly with two emulators and not the third.

Control in bezelname.cfg if the name contain "-" delete and rename Image name without "-"
Ex. Super-nintendo, Image file must Be "supernintendo" it work for me.

@sunwind I don't think there is such option currently.
