Did you disable the retropie splashscreen ? Please post the contents of your /boot/cmdline.txt

Note you can speed up boot by disabling "wait for network" in raspi-config.

Also - Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

Please provide as much information as possible.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I can confirm that the Mayflash Genesis / Mega Drive adapter does indeed work with Retropie / UAE4ARM for Amiga emulation. I haven't had a chance to play with it too much but I was able to play Datastorm in simultaneous two player mode with two original Konix Speedking joysticks. I could move around happily and fire my guns - cool! I didn't have time to try out any other games or joysticks, but initial results are good. The Mayflash adapter is way cheaper than any other 9 pin adapter I could find (especially dual) so this was a real win.

Couple of things to mention though...

-Configuring the input confused me for while because I wanted to set the fire button to B. However I discovered that you can't skip button A during setup. I therefore set fire to A and assumed I would need to edit it manually in the config file afterwards. However when I launched the game, the fire button worked just fine, so no need to change. Button settings are below.

-Bizarrely even though I had configured the input, pushing the joystick right in the Emulation Station screen, opens up the EmulationStation menu, as though I have pressed Start/Select. Works fine in the game though. This is not really a problem as I can use the keyboard to navigate or just cycle left though the menu!

-In UAE4ARM you will need load the rp-a500 config and set input Port 1 & Port 2 to the Mayflash and save.

    D-pad Up - Button 12
    D-pad Down - Button 14
    D-pad Left - Button 15
    D-pad Right - Button 13
    A / Fire - Button 0
(Oddly these mappings differ to what is shown on the Mayflash packaging)

    Hi All,

I had a similar problem when I wanted to save the settings for using Joysticks in vice. And after that all games runs very very fast and no sound was enabled.

I tried already deinstallig and rebooting and new installation. But I had the same problem. UNTI: I removied the files from

    /opt/retropie/configs/c64/

After taht and restarting the emu I worked again - god sake!!!

@SKIIERFOX86 I don't understand your question. Try re-imaging the SD card. That usually sorts a lot of issues out.

I have RetroPie running on a Chromebook running GalliumOS and it works very well. As long as the operating system is Debian-based, you should be ok. Updates take a long time because everything recompiles from source, but aside from that it's fantastic.

I had the same issue, phantom inputs from ibuffalo controller in kodi and roms. When left alone after 10 minutes it would move on its own, not so bad for games, horrible for watching anything.

This fix worked for me, may not work for everyone. Basically on every button and direction I hit the clear button with it multiple times and havent had an issue with it in two days. Hope this helps.

@Haemogoblin Glad I could help. On the subject of Moon Patrol, I assume you have played Horizon. Also from IREM, released in 1985. It's a sequel really. Basically the same idea but you can move between 3 horizontal planes as your vehicle travels along. If you haven't tried it I highly recommend it.

Well, the mistake was mine altogether!
As I said: I'm new to this. What I didn't know was, that I can't just create new folders in the ROM directory manually and than move ROMs into it. It needs the emulators to be installed FIRST. By doing that the folders will pop up automaticly.
    Now everything works just fine.
    Thanks for trying to help.

I found the problem. I re-read the wiki page on network shares and must have missed the part about making sure the roms are not marked read only. After removing the read only attribute from the roms lr-mame2003 loads the games just fine.

    @largetree Hi.

It seems you just messed up the mame2003 configuration. It should be manageable - even if, worst case scenario, we just delete the right configuration files. :)

It is not related to the EmulationStation controller configuration settings.

    So, to confirm:

The controllers work well in other emulators? [Yes?] Do Players 2, 3 and 4 still retain the ability to move down in the same emulator? [Yes?] Can you not access that menu via another controller's R2 button, as player 2, 3 or 4? [No?] Can you not access that menu via player 1's R2 button, and then move as player 2, 3 or 4? [No?] Did you lose the ability to move in all games in that emulator, or just in one particular game?

Let us know. In particular, the last answer would determine whether we'd need to find the global settings file to delete, or just the rom-specific settings.

In particular, in your <rom folder>/mame2003/cfg , there should be some cfg files. Let us know what are its contents. Exit EmulationStation by pressing F4 (or login to your Pi via SSH) and run the following:

    ls -l /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/cfg
