@Guto-Du it's a possibility it's defective. Try over volting the pi (without over clocking) to see if it's more stable. If it is then your pi isn't stable at factory settings and should be sent back for replacement. I have seen multiple reports of pi zero's not stable at factory clock speeds. I think the quality control on the pi zero might be slightly less than other models. Probably because it's a $5 computer.

I get the same behaviour with another model, they don't re-pair automatically if you restart RetroPie without shutting them down first. If you restart RetroPie, shutdown the controller and then start it up again, they should re-pair and the light will turn solid.

my bartop is now finished and running, but still the (little) "problem" tp start the programs.

As written, some (ZS-Spectrum) Games need to press the "5" on the keyboard to start, others the "0" .

Is there an option to define the (phy.) 1P button to the "5" for Game-A, and for Game-B the 1P button to "0" ?
So a game specific setting?

Or any other idea or hints here ?

I have debugged it and described on the ticket how to fix it so you may not need the workaround soon I hope.

Did anything change in the dmesg and/or tail output?

@tobas I used the binary install on a 3b. So I know it works that way. Check the experimental install menu, I think the binary install is in there.

The PS4 DS controllers show as 2 devices - one for the touchpad and one for the actual gamepad, that's why you have 6 listed. There are some hints on how to disable this in this topic.
Also, please add the info detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first when opening a support topic, it's easier to diagnose things.

i have the same issue

I have reset EmulationStation input configuration (Retropie Setup -> Configuration / tools -> emulationstation -> Clear / Reset Emulation Station input configuration), after all previous actions and everything now works as after fresh install.

I'm not sure if it's possible to remove a help option, but you can set a blank (transparent) image for the last/first slot of the help buttons row and then shuffle the other buttons left (or right).
You can also remove the mapping for the button from the /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg file - make sure you back it up first, just in case editing it goes awry.

@AlphaBetaPie Just to be sure: You are aware that nano is the actual text editor and sudo is only needed if you want to start it with root/administrative permissions? For any files that belong to the normal user (pi on Retropie), typing nano is enough to edit them, and you don't risk messing up their ownership.

I have an 8Bit Duo, and I did figure it out. Just assign the hot key and exit key to same home button. So that works with single press now. Then set up separate hot key/menu load for my keyboard, and can still access menus. So all good!

Yep. Found it. Not sure how I missed it before.

I tried to config the buttons through the main input config area while retropie was running and found that retropie recognizes the Ultimate OI board by Ultimarc as one game controller. Seems to me it has to be configured through the script manually. I'm trying it tonight to see if I'm successful. Did you ever get yours working @EspenT ?
