I'm having some issues with scraping.

At first I used the ES Scraper, which didnt work at some point, also stopped downloading cover art since 2 days, I saw another topic mentioning this. Anyhow I tried Selph scraper, which gave me lots of hash errors.
I now tried using UXML Scraper on windows, this went fine and generated the xml files and images. I edited the xml files for the right image/rom paths.

Im having a problem where the gamelist.xml is either not read/working. I compared the contents of the xml files with other working lists from previous scrapes with ES scraper, i did not see any discrepancies left, so it should be working.
Still the metadata and images do not update. I even test editing the metadata inside emulationstation which in itself works fine, but then when I check the xml file, the changes I made are not visible.

So it appears that it is somehow reading another xml file? I have checked and found no other gamecube xml files on my system.

I'm kind of at a loss here, maybe i'm missing something obvious?
Is the metadata entered inside emulationstation saved somewhere else?

    Any help appreciated.

I ended up using UXML Scraper now because ES Scraper doesn't work. Btw do you know a way to add my own artwork? I find it writting in Retropie with keyboard take lots lots of times because there is no copy/paste button.

Your gamelist can be in different folder with a hierarchie of use...

1st it read in the "Roms/Stystem/" Folder
2nd it read in the "configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists/System/"

So check if you haven't an old one somewhere ;)

Second and very importante point : Never Scrape or modify gamelist.xml with Emulationstation running.
If you do so, it will erase every change at the next restart...
(Because ES load gamelist in memory, and "rewrite" them at restart. Overwriting what you can have Change ;) )

I have notice that by modify xml file it is to advance for me lol, I would only mess it up. So I guess I will have to wait ES Scraper is fixed or just learn to use UXML.

            With UXS, normally,
clean what you have done before (move or delete each gamelist and downloaded_images you can found),
            download the last version,
launch it (be aware Antivirus/firewall can be a pain in the A :S ) follow the wizzard,
Kill ES (if UXS can't, it happen sometime)
            and scrape...

            It's done ;)

@screech Thanks, but neither is the issue.

There is no gamelist.xml in the Roms/System folder nor in the configs/all....
All are in the /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists/system/ folders. Some previous scrapes/xml files from my sega master system are in there. The weird thing is even, when I edit those now the change are not reflected in emulationsstation/gamelist.db. It is as if when scraping/importing xml manually it looks for it somewhere else.

And yes I alsways shutdown emulationstation when changing :)
