Xbox wired controller: unable to get it to exit out of games. Sets up properly as xbox gamepad, and I even tried setting up xboxdrv--but still the controller fails to exit game if start-select used, and other combos (save, load, etc) using 2 buttons fails.
Please advise!

@endor did you edit anything in the retroarch gui while in a game? If so you could have messed up the config. You also are better off using xpad for your controller. Also when you configure your controller and it asks you for the hotkey are you pressing back or the globe?
-
For hotkey, it said to hit any key--so I just hit one of the buttons (x,y, etc)
I had used the "back" key (to left of globe) as select; the globe was not set for anything...
So do I need to remap, then use the globe for the hotkey?
How would I then use the hotkey if so?
Thanks!

Also, it looks like the light indicator is for 1 & 2 (by the globe).
The thing is a bear to configure. If I ever get it working, can I "register" it so that it doesn't have to be configured every time the system is turned on?

@endor use back for select and the hotkey. That makes select the hotkey so when you press select (hotkey) and start (exit key) you exit out of the game. So you need to go into the start menu and reconfigure your controller.

@endor read last post. If it is not saving and need to be reconfigured everytime you have a permissions problem. If you do have to redo this everytime then hook up a keyboard, press f4. It should take you to console. Type
sudo chown pi:pi -R /opt/retropie/configs/
If it says something that appears that that failed try it without the -R.
sudo chown pi:pi /opt/retropie/configs/
Then restart the pi. Then you will have to configure the controller one last time.
