        @titchgamer update setup script then update core packages then try again. This is no longer hosted on the zigurana repo but is part of the actual RetroPie emulationstation repo.

          @jonnykesh said in Emulation station kids down?:

          update setup script then update core packages

          I don't believe binaries have been built so he'd need to install emulationstation from source to get the latest changes.

              Hi! Sorry, but the EmulationStation kids branch was very outdated (last update a year or so ago). In the meantime, many improvements to ES were made, which were not part of this branch.

              Last week, an important part of the kid-mode branch functionality was delivered into the retropie - master branch (kiosk mode only, so hiding of menus). The second part is underway (hiding of separate gsmes/items).

              I therefore removed the kids-mode branch, and you can no longer install it via the experimental packages.

              My advice: update your Emulationstation from source, so you get the menu shielding functionality, and follow PR#525 to track the progress of the rest.

              If tetris has thought me anything, it's that errors pile up and that accomplishments dissappear.

                @zigurana

                Cheers for that, I have just upgraded to 4.3 so how do I hide menus with that?

                I will follow the post you sugest also :)

                  If you have the latest RetroPie-Setup you won't get the Kiosk mode stuff as it's not in the stable branch yet. There will be an emulationstation-dev module in experimental soon that will allow using the latest ES code.

                      @titchgamer you can try and install emulationstation-dev from experimental if you update RetroPie-Setup to v4.3.1

                                        Well I updates all cores etc and now I have retropie working again....

                                        Except that it has "lost" all my settings/roms/etc etc

                                        Even though they are still in the folders it cant seem to detect them!
