I'm pretty new to RetroPie. Do these videos take the place of the wall of text that I see every time I start up? I love the Quasar theme that plays the old PSX sound.

@itsnitro Asides from it being 1m10s long, I actually love it! Might trim it down and used it for my set up :)

        The music is quite catchy!

              I do not believe so.
I haven't tried using the splashscreen yet on my pi, I'll let you know how it goes.

@itsnitro @hooperre Nope. I imagine, if you have a keyboard connected, pressing "q" might quit the video, if it's using OMXPlayer.

@mydriaze Literally made an account to tell you how sick this is. It feels like a beautiful mashup of the band '1984 Miami Nights', Hotline Miami, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Great work!!

                            Hi

I have never made something like this, so don't expect much :-D But on my search on youtube I found af free template and a free video editing programme. So I thought, hey why not try to customize it? :-)

Here is my intro video (my name is Steffen, so that's why my name is there, and the arcade machine in the background is my own.

This is the original video with link to the template, if anyone wants to try something like this.

It may inspire people who, like me, haven't any video making/editing skills coming in to this, and haven't got a programme on my computer.

While looking for some examples of video splash screens I stumbled across this forum. I am currently building a 1980s style cabinet and created a video splash screen that I thought I would share. I found

and thought it would be perfect so I then completely recreated it with "Retropie Arcade" Let me know what you think!

@Mikfoley I'd love to see this splash screen with the VHS popping effects like at the top of the sample video.

@Brigane no, sorry. I didn't. I'm actually using the randomizer to run a selection of the great splashscreens thats downloadable from the RPie Setup. There's a lot of fun and pretty ones, and I like the randomness of it :)

It would be cool to have a dedicated Bubble Bobble thing to complement the theme of the build, but I never found one. Please tag me if you come across one :)

I have noticed that after the update to 4.4 there is generally a longer loading time for the system than it had before. Has anyone considered lengthening some of these videos so they cover more of the loading time? I particularly noticed this issue with the default videos included in retropie, so perhaps those deserve a look?
