I don't think there is a sound for entering a folder. Sound options are very limited unfortunately, in the early days of ES it seemed to support sounds for most actions but at some point they were removed for some reason which is a shame.

Hi,

Here is the 4x3 version ready to try. It supports 1440x1080, 1280x1024, 1280x960, and 1024x768.

You'll need to go into the settings.xml and define the resolution of the display you're using.

It only supports NeoGeo, Capcom and the Config menu (same as the 16x9 version). But I will get a generic arcade system added to both versions in the near future.

@ruckage tiny favor... can you place in a zipfile the "logo.png" with no "NeoGeo MVS" and other text on it, just the button including the red & white background, and the "arcade-controls.png" without the "Menu" and "Options" text on it? as i need a clean and pure image to customize for my own purposes..

For the controls, if you let me know what you'd like them to say I can edit it so the text style matches, the theme is setup to allow for multiple versions of the controls so another set would be easy to add. (Same goes for anyone else, if the help controls don't suit your setup let me know and I can edit them to your needs).

ok, sorry I didn't see the donate in the sig, too small i guess, i overlooked it, will donate as soon as i get paid this week, add it to the budget, gotta throw it at the wife ya know... for the "arcade-controls.png" really should be "mvs-controls.png" in my mind :) but... remove the words "menu" and "options" thats it, and for the "logo.png" i need one each of these categories "Action" "Arcade" "Fighting" "Puzzle" "Shooter" and "Sports" using neo geo font? or whatever one the theme uses that looks appropriate. that is all chief...

P.S. this is neogeo only, as i am omitting the capcom stuff, so please use red and gray where appropriate.

Hello @ruckage, your theme is amazing as usual!

Anyway guys I have an issue, after putting my Capcom CPS Roms into the FBA folder, this happens, it's all black with a blue font like there is no theme, I tried to add/modify the es_systems.cfg but it's not working. No problem with the Neo Geo part.

Did I miss something?

Ps: I can't wait for the "Arcade Classics" option!

since i replied and you haven't found time to answer i decided to go ahead and modify the theme to my needs, although i still need a 1280x1024 (5:4) of the ne0-geo snk boot splash you made... here is my progress!

Forgive me if I'm wrong as it's not always obvious in text but that comment seems a little bit snarky considering all the changes I've already made for you...

I have very limited time and have several themes to work on and I can't spend all of my free time on changes that only benefit 1 person. I will probably add categories at some point but it's not a top priority for me at the moment as this theme only has niche appeal.

I made all the changes to make the theme work in 4:3 and 5:4 aspect ratios which is all you originally asked for (which took a whole days work) and I supplied blank system icons so that you could make your own icons as you requested a month ago (see the download link in this post: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/10806/neo-geo-x-build/295).

must have missed the download link, no malice was intended here, just wanted to bring it to your attention and show you that the miscommunication led to me modding it nicely, wanted to thank you for youre work and will be donating shortly, had to put it in the budget...

thanks again, and as soon as you can re-render that vid in 5:4 that would be cool, it was my mistake, for some reason i thought 1280x1024 was 4:3...!

i understand you are in-demand and have other projects and works, thats why i was willing to pay you to finish it the way i wanted and promptly, as this is a birthday/grad gift for my son.

as for niche appeal, ive posted pics of it in some forums and people are asking where to get it and i tell them its by the famous @ruckage of the known retropie themes, i really beg to differ on how "niche" it really is as in my circles of travel its turning heads, as people LOVE Neo-Geo and probably want it for an actual arcade cabinet, because its perfect for that, especially those who need 4:3/5:4 for arcade monitors.

ALSO... if you had a black BAT-type joy controller graphic instead of the balltop i would like to have it for my control set, as it matches the standard Neo-Geo hardware...

I just want to say thank you. This neogeo theme for the neogeo x is incredible. This is what the neogeo x should have been in the long run.

Using the neogeo x arcade stick is a must as i feel its fantastic and works great. I love my neogeo x, even though i had it running great on AV out to my CRT TV and i was happy with the output. The system gets a lot of stick, but its not a bad system once it is setup correctly with the TV adjustments. However your theme, just finishes the system off and it is running perfect and looks mint on my TV.

Keep up the fantastic work.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad the theme is useful to you. It was a real shame about the Neogeo X, with a bit more care it could have been great. I only have the dock but I was impressed with the build quality so I feel it was mainly the software that let it down.

I don't have neogeo X stick but may get one, I have mayflash sticks though which are also very good and give that nice arcade feel you need for playing Neo geo games :D

I think the theme is fairly niche as it isn't a simple to use theme as it requires specific preview images etc - you can't just install it and get it working. It's also obviously very limited regarding systems so doesn't have mass appeal.
