Installing Emulationstation theme from USB.
-
Hi guys!
I made my custom ES theme recently. However, I've got Rpi 2 and it doesn't have built in WiFi obviously. I thought I can easily install my theme through the USB, just like I did with ROMs. I searched the ways of doing it, butnone of theme were useful... So, the question is: How to install ES theme through the USB??? Thanks for answers in advance :)

@mr-emu Assuming 'no wifi' means no network access to the RPI, then one option would be plug in a keyboard, exit ES (via F4) and copy the theme folder from the USB drive to the ES themes folder (
/etc/emulationstation/themes
or/home/pi/.emulationstation/themes
).If you have a Linux system around, you could also pull out the SD card, plug it in the Linux system and mount the 2nd partition from the card to access the RetroPie filesystem and copy the theme this way.

@mitu
I installed "raw" RetroPie on my SDcard
Pie... Just Pie... No Linux -
@mr-emu The RetroPie image you install on your SD card from the download page is Linux. From First Installation:
RetroPie is built on top of Raspbian (a linux based OS for the Raspberry Pi) and as such the partition on the SD card is EXT4 (a linux filesystem) which is not visible on windows systems, so the card will show up as a smaller size than usual and you wont be able to see everything on the card, but it is all there. You will be able to access the filesystem over the network as described in the transferring roms section below.

Hi. Try to connect the RPi to the pc using a patch cord. LAN connection.
The logic of the transfer of the themes is the same, only by cable. -
@mitu Oh... yeah, right... I'm about to check your solution dude... Hold tight

@mitu I've got one more question... what command do I type, if I want to copy my theme to RetroPie??? (Don't tell me to type 'help', I see no commands, that would solve my problem)

@mitu Umm... Nevermind... I finally managed to install it. Thanks for help bro :D !
