I missed when you didn't have to mess with configuration on the RPi itself, and 3.6 was more plug-and play than the 4.0 releases. Also I have a really good guide on it. Thanks. Also, why aren't old images on github?

The source code exists on github:
      https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/releases/tag/3.6
      You have to compile.

I also have a discimage of my retropie 3.6, but I'm not allowed to give it to you.

Linux is like wigwam: no Gates, no Windows and Apache inside.

Thanks, there are guides for that, right? Also my other question still isn't answered.

When Cortés reached the new world, he burned his ships to inspire confidence in his men to move forward. With RetroPie however, I imagine it's simply a matter of practicality. Supporting the latest greatest release already takes a village. Supporting all the outdated images that have come and gone would be a pretty big burden. Personally, I don't see that 4.x is any less "plug and play" than 3.6. What are some examples that you've noticed?

          RetroPie v4.5 • RPi3 Model B • 5.1V 2.5A PSU • 16GB SanDisk microSD • 512GB External Drive
