Navigating lr-vice gui
-
Above.
-
@quicksilver i did find retropad and vice joystick made no difference for me personally.
-
@edmaul69 so f10 on the keyboard will bring up the vice gui but my mouse doesn't work. My retroarch version is the same as yours. I have tried everything else suggested except removing my retroarch config and then updating. However I don't see an option to update retroarch from binary, only from source. Should I update from source?
-
@quicksilver yes remove the file i mention and update from source
-
@edmaul69 I deleted the config file then updated retroarch. My retroarch gui definitely looks different now (looks like yours). However it didn't solve the problem.
-
@quicksilver you didnt delete the retroarch.cfg in c64 did you? You deleted the one in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg correct? Continue to test with a real mouse hooked up as you are testing. In about 45 minutes i will look and see if i can find something else you need to do.
-
@quicksilver edited last post.
-
@quicksilver remove the settings i told you to add in the retroarch.cfg in c64. Regular mouse doesnt work with those settings. We need to see if a regular mouse works for you
-
@edmaul69 correct, I deleted the one in "all" not the one in the c64 folder.
I was playing with the settings and I set the controller to vice controller I can now open and close the onscreen keyboard! (I had tried this before I updated and it didn't work but now it does) So a little bit of progress! No if I can get the mouse functional I will be all set.
-
@quicksilver how are you closing the menu?
-
@quicksilver in your controls under vice joystick is user 1 analog to digital type set to none?
-
@quicksilver one more thing. Can you change the toggle mouse grab back to “nul” it is nul on mine.
-
@edmaul69 I can open and close the onscreen keyboard by pressing "y" when my controller is set to vice controller. When I open the vice gui, I cannot close it again and I have to press start+select to quit the rom
-
Please read all of the above. My
input_driver = udev input_joypad_driver = udev
Not sure what your controller is set as in retroarch. Not sure if this matters either.
-
@quicksilver i found another setting to add to the c64 retroarch.
menu_mouse_enable = true
-
@edmaul69 user 1 analog to digital is set to none and I added back the line into the c64 retroarch config file. Not sure I know how to check how retroarch sees my controller.
-
@quicksilver can you backup your c64 retroarch.cfg and replace everything inside it with the contents i am posting here on pastebin? this is my config. hopefully this will fix everything. if select doesnt enable the mouse when you are in a menu try other buttons.
-
@edmaul69 I will work on that now. Your c64 retroarch config file has way more in it then mine does. Mine is pretty much empty except for what you told me to add.
-
@quicksilver yeah, i changed a setting when i got the new gui and it created everything. I hope you are using an ssh program of some sort to copy and pasting.
-
@edmaul69 I replaced my c64 retroarch config with yours but it didnt seem to change anything. My physical mouse still doesnt work, and pressing select (or any other button) does not enable the mouse for the gamepad.
