SNES mini theme

@Beaps
You can try creating your own icons, that´s what I have done, I created a pixeled icon for supergrafx (also a supergrafx icon for the Nes mini theme) and also for some other systems, those look aligned with the aesthetic of the theme, however I will use the ones from Ruckage once he release them. -
My art skills are pretty much none haha. I use this theme on my hacked real snes classic console and I have Cps1 Cps2 & Cps3 hence the other 2 colours blue and orange. As for supergrafx I don't have one :-(

Hello ruckage, are you also planning to make Loading Screens suitable for the SNES Mini Theme?
-
-
@ruckage Hey maybe you can help me!
I downloaded this theme and added it to opt/retropie/config/all/emulationstation/themes and it loads fine. I wanted to change the region to USA and the background to blurred_shots_black_vignette so I made the necessary changes to the config.xml file but now the theme does not load any images at all, and retropie throws up "XML parsing error: file was not found" errors. What can I do to customize this theme and have it work?
-
@r4l
Please post a copy of your config.xml so I can check for errors. -
-
Here's the config.xml.

Cool :-)
@ruckage said in SNES mini theme:
@cybermen
Hi. You could use the ones I made for nes-mini that @mitu linked to for now but I will probably make a set specifically for the snes-mini theme as well. -
@r4l
I can't see any problems in the config.xml.You say it says: "XML parsing error: file was not found".
What file exactly is it saying it can't find? -
@ruckage
There are about 20 errors. Each say the same thing:lvl0: from theme "/etc/emulationstation/themes/snes-mini/theme.xml" XML parsing error: File was not found
That's all it says I'm afraid. I have checked that directory and theme.xml is there with info inside. Maybe it has to do with me editing the XML file in nano?

@ruckage I love your artwork I use it also on my Snes mini classic edition :) you rock Ruckage

New to RetroPie.org, so apologies if this has been addressed already. After searching, I either did not use the proper search terms and or did not find the answer...
I have a Pi3b with the latest RetroPie build installed. I had used the in app theme downloader to pull down SNES-MINI. I do love the theme and I have been able to customize it to my liking.
But one thing I have noticed is the icon for the number of players only works for 1 player. If a game is 2 player, the icon is missing.
I am on a 16:9 display and have the resolution set at 1280x720 in the config and it matches the config.
Is there any steps that need to be taken to allow the icons to show up? I have configured to text, but I do enjoy the icons much more.
Thank you in advance -
@theotherdan Your data is scraped incorrectly in those cases. You probably scraped from somewhere that displays 2 player as "1 - 2" or "2+". The player field should be an integer of the max players for a game.
-
@livefastcyyoung Thanks! That didn't even cross my mind...
-
@theotherdan
Yeah, @LiveFastCyYoung is correct, that is most likely the issue. -
where do the Odyssey 2 roms go? I tried videopac and videopac2.
also where do pcenginecd roms go?I have added roms and art to both github recommended file locations:
videopac
pcenginecdstill i see NO pcengine cd logo or odyssey2 logo

Just wanted to say, I love what you've done here! I installed your theme and it fits perfectly! Thank you for making this!
-
@ruckage Is this going to be compatible with 3.5" screens with 320x240?
-
Here's one I made. This isn't intended as any kind of attempt to finish the authors work, love this theme. You can find instructions elsewhere in this thread to add the image.
