Mouse/spinner activation
-
Hello all.
Can anyone help re as im really tearing my hair out over this now. I just cannot figure out how I activate a mouse or a spinner.
Found a few how to's on the net but none of them seem to be succesful for me.
Ive got a Ultimark spinner through an I-Pac and the closest to success i get is once typing cat/dev/input/mice on the PI is a left and right twist of the spinner does react with digits coming up on the screen. Evidently the spinner can be seen and its Mouse 1.
Also a normal PC mouse will react also
Appreciate only select Mames can use spinners. lb-Mame2003 (is that also known as Mame Liberto?) and Advance mame 94 but I enter what is required in the configs -rc for the suggested MAMEs but none of them end up seeing a Spinner in the games Tab inputs area when twisting the dial. Am i missing another activation process somewhere?
Once this is done ive also got a trackball to do which I thought would act identically to the mouse but that one isn't reacting inside cat/dev/input/mice.
Lastly, I have a double potentiometered DIY star wars yoke using the board of an aged sidewinder joystick. I dare say a download of drivers will required on that one but does anyone know if it would be physically possible for the PI to cope with that?
Many thanks

Hi.
Can I beg for someone's assistance here. Im spending hour after hour on the internet trying to figure out how to do this. No joy
I have got to the point where I can see all of my USB devices are in the lsusb list . That's a mouse, spinner a racing wheel and the Sidewinder joystick board in the star wars yoke. I have got a trackball as well but I think that's hopelessly analogue and its not findable. I will not worry about that so much.
I just cannot figure out what the next stage is. How to activate all these things. Can someone please tell me how its done?
many thanks
