To my knowledge scratch games can be played right in a web browser. Not sure that RetroPie is the best choice for running a scratch program. Raspberry Pie can run a web browser without the help of RetroPie though. Others might have a better suggestion but I think scratch is a bit out of RetroPie's wheelhouse.

@fredlink You can install the Pixel desktop in Retropie : https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/FAQ#where-did-the-desktop-go

@fredlink Seems that way, as there are no emulators nor roms to be played on the pi for scratch. The same as people wanting to play facebook games on the pi. Not possible unless you play them trhough the Chromium web browser.

I don't think using a web browser through retropie for scratch would be the best choice due to the potential overhead when it can be run natively on the desktop. But I haven't tried it myself so who knows maybe it would work.

I got the Scratch 2 Editor to work on RetroPie, but I cannot get it to close. I don't see a quit command in Scratch 2, and I cannot find any information about how to close the Matchbox window manager either. Maybe Scratch 3 will work better when they port it to the Pi. I put it on RetroPie-Extras-unstable because of not being able to exit. https://github.com/moonpi/RetroPie-Extra-unstable
