      Pi Model or other hardware: 3b
      Power Supply used: official 2.5A
      RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.3.8
      Built From: retropie-4.2-rpi2_rpi3.img
      USB Devices connected: keyboard, 2x Dragon USB encoders, 2.5" 1tb usb
      Controller used: Zippy sticks & arcade buttons through Dragon USB encoders
      Error messages received: none
      Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant):

      Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, I did a search and couldn't find an answer that worked for me.

      I have set up the controllers, all buttons/sticks work, have configured a dedicated hotkey, etc.

      I'm struggling to configure a Pause button in Retroarch, when I open the Retroarch menu and look in the Controls menu, there is no Pause option. Am I missing something obvious?

      Thanks

        @sinibomb in the bottom of the configs/all/retroarch.cfg file, you can find the button assigned as the pause key. Mind you, that if you have hotkeys enabled, you have to press the hotkey + the assigned pause key, in order to pause a game. In this file you can change the key if it's not to your liking.

        As a bonus info, I have successfully assigned the hotkey as the pausekey at the same time, meaning that when I hit the hotkey, the game pauses, but the hotkey still works for exiting, saving, loading, etc.

            @sinibomb

            Also, if you wanted to specifically add a pause toggle to the auto config file that already exists for your controller, you can add

            input_pause_toggle_btn = "X"

            to /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/autoconfig/name-of-your-controller.cfg
            The X in the example above would be replaced with the button number you wish to control the pause toggle. Adding it in this way would be particularly useful for multiple controllers, where you may not wish to have pause mapped to the same numbered button for all of them.
