@AndersHP yes , custom control mapping is now available in the lastest update - it has its own panel although does not work with keyboard controllers (eg IPac) yet

The wiki says it works with iPac, but that is just for the future then? Do you have an ETA on iPac/keyboard integration?

Sounds really cool that it's utilizing retroarch though! Does this mean, that if retroarch.cfg is all set up, I only (when it's integrated) have to change from joystick to keyboard and then it's all good?

        @andershp

Don’t confuse general input controller support with custom remapping.

You can have any keyboard combination used as a “keyboard controller” (Including ipac) but you can only map the the standard controls (joystick, cd32,etc) -this should currently work and uses the retroarch.cfg

You can’t then map the ipac buttons to other Amiga keyboard buttons or emulator functions (yet)

You also cannot yet uae more than 1 keyboard controller (player 2-4 in the retroarch cfg)

Hmmmm.. I'm confusing these things together.

So the standard buttons from the wiki are mappable to other inputs. I just thought this was possible before the update also. The Keyboard as Joystick function was doing this perfectly for me last time I tested.

What I thought was possible now is for example to map Amiga Left and Right Shift to another keyboard iPac input, like keyboard A and E. This could be really useful for pinball games.

(A and E are standard "shoulder" buttons for the Pegasus front end, switching between systems folders)

          Next time then :)

I am looking forward to your adf version.

So in Amiberry I do not need .uae files to run adf files from inside the RetroPie?
If so, what is the .uae that they take as template?

BTW I cannot set the default RetroArch mappings work.
I have a wired XBOX360 controller and had issues in other emulators.

you may have been using the development version then!

Not yet, but i'm exploring this. There are currently reported issues with the ipac/retroarch mapping i'll need to resolve first.

Whether i add ADF really depends on the future of the UAE Config Maker, as i am looking to phase this out. The solution i will use though might also work for ADFs.

RetroPie provides two templates - one for ECS games and one for AGA games. These wont be as compatibile as individual game-based .uae configs though.

BTW I cannot set the default RetroArch mappings work.

Have you followed the wiki for setting this up? Does the [R] show in the custom panel etc?

                  Hi

Just wanted to find out - Can you now assign function keys eg F1 F2 etc to joystick buttons in the uae config files using amiberry in retropie 4.3?

                  Regards
                  Jimi

                  Great program by the way

@tuki_cat is that the v2.14 release? Or a later one.

This is great news for certain games that require shift and function keys

Is this a valid solution to overcome the Amiberry some cases (like mine)inability to ready the retroarch configuration files for controllers?

Not sure - as above it would be useful to see your screenshots and files you have trouble with.

I will be doing a second overhaul on the controller mapping to make it even more versatile and to iron out any difficulties people are still having, but I still believe it works considerably better than previously.

Relevant to this thread generally, I am working on a single file WHDLoad booting solution within Amiberry.... this should remove the need for the Config maker or any HDFs or issues with certain files under different OS environments etc.

I have a working prototype and am aiming to have this in the development version at least within a couple of weeks.

@horaceandspider Just an idea: What if you could store settings in the global config (for example aspect ratio) so that if the .uae has no other setting it uses the default?

what i am doing will have at lease some aspect of that. It's possible to work can be reproduced to be used for universal defaults. I have the same issue with my handheld Pi where i need stereo seperation reduced to the lowest value!

@Pyjamarama the old mapping of a single button for quit/menu has been removed since retroarch HotKey button mapping is implemented. You can chose a bespoke button for this by creating a system specific retroarch Config for your controller and pointing the controller path to your alternative file, rather than the one used by a RetroPie.

All the same function as before, but more flexibility.

You can also map mouse controls to your analogue sticks by using the “mouse map” function in the Input panel whilst using a joystick mode (I am going to work on improvements to the functionality of that on the future too, although it does work fine at present, much of the work will be “under the hood”)

@HoraceAndSpider first of all really thanks for your work about Amiberry! I just would you advice about some issue I am having after last binary version update and after setting autoconfig in Controller files path:

                                      1. I'm trying to map mouse controls to analogue stick but it does not work, when I back to GUI (just a second later) the settings I made were cleared. Am I doing some errors? what is the exact way to configure it?
                                      2. Other GUI settings I've changed (like custom keys) stand in the GUI until I quit from the game, so I have to redo this whenever I launch the game. Is this normal?
                                      3. The most strange thing, before updating I had Chaos Engine WHload version working fine, now it starts with no enemy, like a game bug... someone is finding the same issue?

                                      Thank you!

                                        Hi guys,

I have a PS3 controller. I have managed to get my retroarch config loaded as I can play all the games with the controller. However, the hotkey and exit emulator combination does not work. I have tried it with the other emulators and the combination works perfectly.

Should my controller be working in the Amiberry gui menu?

Is there anything special you think I may have missed?

Are you definitely using the latest version and have you got the retroarch options enabled in the misc. panel?

Maybe some screenshots and the retroarch controller Config would help diagnose.

@marus you’d need to save the game Config in the Config panel after making the changes, then reload that later on.

I will have to look into the mouse map bug although I think I already have a better solution for that anyway coming up.
