      I’ve installed retropie on Ubuntu many many times.... this last couple of days it fails every time with numerous errors..... always unsuccessful install of emulationstation due to not finding a folder or something. Can’t remember exactly off the top of my head

        @dnbarnes1983 could you try being a bit more vague?

          We need additional informations :

          • what platform do you have

          Did you tried without multiprocessors compilation :

          sudo MAKEFLAGS="-j1" ./retropie_setup.sh

            @dnbarnes1983 Which Ubuntu version/release ? Please post the exact error you get - better yet upload the error log to pastebin.com if it's too large.

              @mitu Could not successfully build sdl2 (Simple DirectMedia Layer) v2.x
              (/home/benjamin/RetroPie-Setup/tmp/arcade/sdl2/libsdl2-de

              Is the first error that comes up. I’m using Ubuntu 16.0.4 Lts

                @dnbarnes1983 There should be a log file under /home/benjamin/RetroPie-Setup/tmp/ with more details about the compilation error. Try to upload it to pastebin.com and post here the link.

                      @dnbarnes1983 Well, you're not the only one and it seems there's an error building SDL2, which cascades to other packages (Emulationstation, RetroArch, Mupen). The actual build log for the SDL package would be useful, let's see if I can reproduce the problem.

                        @dnbarnes1983 .Run this:

                        sudo apt-get install libgles2-mesa-dev libegl1-mesa-dev

                        Then try again a basic install from the RetroPie-setup menu.

                              I made some changes last night regarding dependencies and didn't complete but pushed to the sdl repo before it was ready. You can sudo apt-get install libegl1-mesa-dev libgles2-mesa-dev libglu1-mesa-dev to resolve it if I don't fix it first.
