        Still cant connect.
        I connect to wifi
        enable ssh
        instaled winscp
use hostname RETROPIE or the pi ip
then asks for password and i get always acess denied.

It used to work, now i cannot login, dont know what im doing wrong.

@ruicunha You could check the /var/log/auth.log file to see why the authentication is not working. Should show something like the line below if the password is not correct.

retropie sshd[9768]: Failed password for pi from <IP_ADDRESS> port 51284 ssh2

@ruicunha You can insert the SD card into card reader and then use tools like Linux Reader or Ext2FS to access unix file systems.

You can also install a live unix system like Puppy linux, Ubuntu Live System ... but I made best experience with Linux Reader

                  https://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/

                  Easiest method:
Just connect a keyboard to your Pie
Then Quit ES and you get terminal access
                  then type nano /var/log/auth.log

@ruicunha You can see the auth.log file from the terminal, after existing Emulationstation:

                    sudo tail /var/log/auth.log

How did you change the password for the Pi user ?

I got Failed password for invalid user PI from

I changed password inside raspberry setup in retropie, ill try and use numbers for password.

Guys thanks for the help, i hope i can fix this.

I change to numbers from the pi command line and still it doesnt connect.

i remember that on my 1st attempt when it worked i had to change the password to RASPBERRY, but now even if i change it i cannot connect. I dont know what i need to do.
