I Have Tried Everything & It Still Won't Boot...
-
@quicksilver I might be I am unsure, as silly as that sounds. How would I do that?
-
@stativegecko so the retropie image needs to be uncompressed/extracted using a program like WinZip, WinRAR or 7zip. 7zip is free so probably start there if you don't already have one. Once you have extracted it, then take that file and write it to your SD card using win32disk imager.
-
@quicksilver Could you leave a link for 7zip I just did a Google Search for it and there are many programs called 7zip apparently.
-
@stativegecko https://www.7-zip.org/
Download for Windows is right at the top
-
@quicksilver Where would extract the document to? The SD card?
-
@stativegecko
You can also use etcher and write the image to your SDCARD without extracting it. If you use win32diskimager you have to extract the file to your harddrive then use win32diskimager to write to your SDCARD. I'm curious to know if after your initial setup that you shutdown completely is that you are able to boot still. -
@stativegecko just extract it to your hard drive. Then write the extracted file to your SD card using win32disk imager.

@stativegecko said in I Have Tried Everything & It Still Won't Boot...:
I am having trouble with my Raspberry Pi. I have tried multiple different SD cards, multiple different cable lengths and power supplies. I even thought it was the Raspberry Pi itself and bought a new one. Then I tried to see if it would run any operating system so I ran the newest version of Raspbian on it. It did, in fact, boot up. So, if any of you more Raspberry Pi savvy people can help me out it would be much appreciated.
what size is your sd card?
-
@grant2258 I used a 16gb SD card. Hope that helps you!

@quicksilver I have a signal now but it looks like a terminal. I thought it was to start the setup of the controller. Did I do something wrong?
-
@stativegecko Follow the documentation - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/ - you can't go wrong with that.
-
@quicksilver Nevermind I think I figured it out. Will update you guys when I get a game running!
