Official Stretch From Website as of 3 days ago
      No USB Devices
PS3 controller using optional driver (will try the PR of sixasis soon)
      No errors

My splashscreens are playing for several seconds and then will get interrupted. They aren't stuttering like a file issue, and these are my same splashscreens from my previous build on 4.3 that worked fine.I've even used Handbrake on them to shrink them considerably and kept them in Mp4 format.

Basically, once it plays for a bit, the tv goes black and sound stops. Then a couple of seconds later the audio comes back and the video comes back for a second and then goes off and the Emulation Station loading logo comes on. It almost seems like the ES loading interrupts the splashscreens whereas 4.3 let them play fully and then if they were long enough, but occaionally it makes my tv show "No video Signal" after the hiccup.

Any ideas to try to troubleshoot are appreciated.

I was looking into the same issue. I found this post, and was going to give the suggestion towards the end a try to see if it helps. Haven't gotten to it yet. It seems to only cut out when hooked up to my pc monitor.

I think it is fixed. I reboot multiple times and only once it flicked black for about 1/2 a second.

          • I moved my splash screen to /opt/retropie/supplementary/splashscreen/

          then I

          • edited asplashscreen.sh and removed the -b from around line 37 near OMX (that removed a black background that used to be needed to hide post text.

I had to use the command sudo chown on the directory to get write access
