      @dh99 You will not see any of retropies folders in windows. Windows CAN NOT see the file system. To add roms, either you can use the USB method or the network method.

        @dh99 I think you are a bit confused.
        Ignore what Windows tells you about your SD card. Just write the image to the card and insert in the Pi. Does it boot? Then you are done.
        IF you want to add ROMs via a USB drive then you create a folder on the USB drive called retropie (all lower case)
        See official docs https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Transferring-Roms

          Note the official docs for end users are on this site. They are generated from the wiki but please point users to the generated docs rather than the GitHub wiki. Thanks.

              @buzz Sorry Buzz, the wiki is always the top link in google. So I normally just post that link. I didn't realise there was an issue with linking the wiki rather than the "pretty" docs.

                  @herb_fargus You couldn't watch them!
                  Just wondering, is there a problem referring to the wiki rather than the docs?
                  I can understand you want the clicks on the web page, just to show traffic.
                  Other than that, is there an actual reason?

                    @jonnykesh it's prettier, and people are less likely to make stupid edits (in theory)

                      @herb_fargus Ah, okay. Was just curious why Buzz was a bit miffed that myself and another poster had linked the wiki, rather than the docs.
                      I had never honestly thought there was a distinction between the 2 (except the docs may be slightly behind the wiki).
                      I'll try and link the "nice" docs in future if that's what you guys would prefer.

                        We have a web hook that updates it realtively quickly. But yes for future updates the pretty docs are the preference, appreciated :)

                          @jonnykesh Apart from the prettier formatting, I think the github wiki pages disable the embedded video links and there is no Table of Contents.

                            @mitu Certainly noted. I honestly never really drew a distinction between both sets of info. I just always assumed one was as good as the other. As I said, I'll definitely keep it in mind and use the pretty docs page for future reference.
