      Hardware: Beebox-S i3-6100U (Xubuntu 18.04)
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.4
      Built From: Ubuntu Guide Installation
USB Devices connected: Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver
      Controller used: Xbox 360 Wireless
      Error messages received: None
Emulator: Snes, MegaDrive, Neo Geo, Game Boy Advanced, Mame, PSX

I bought a new computer, so I installed everything again: Xubuntu and Retropie, using my old roms from older installation, so I'm sure that all files are ok but when launching a rom from almost all emulators, the black screen appears with the message about the controller on port #0 and stops there, the sound is ok looking like the rom is running but the commands from controller did not respond as well. This happens for Snes, MegaDrive, Neo Geo, Game Boy Advanced, Mame and PSX emulators, just Dolphin and Nintendo 64 emulators are running fine. I didn't see any errors in es_log.txt or run_command.log.

@bruno_mlopes There was a recent topic about this - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/17579/libretro-not-yet-ready-for-ubuntu-18-04/9. You an either use a Wayland enabled session or try to use the gl/vulkan video driver in your RetroArch config and see if it works.

In Xubuntu I don't know hot to change to Wayland session or if it's really possible. The drivers gl / vulkan did not work as well. But I have changed to SDL2 driver it works! I tried the minimum linux installation with Xubuntu but what would be the best linux to run Retropie?

@bruno_mlopes IMHO if it's a Debian/Ubuntu based distro, RetroPie would work with minimal fiddling, so if you like Xubuntu - keep using it.
