will these heatsinks fit in a nespi case +?
-
@edmaul69 Are you overclocking? I have a Pi 3 in one of those Genesis USB hubs and it never threw a thermal warning.
-
Yes, this is exactly the one I purchased from Amazon.
I bought 2. One has an original RPi3 with fans installed. The other currently has no heat sinks installed. However I do have some heat sinks for it ... I could tear it up tonight and install them for fun ...
-
@obsidianspider no overclocking. Just a pi 3 b in a nespi case+. I was just using it for about 8 hours before it happened. It is pretty warm here, though. So i added the kintaro heatsink with thermal paste and a fan. Not willing to risk damaging my pi when i can use a few simple fixes.

That Kintaro heatsink block looks pretty impressive. Just looked on eBay UK for my next PI3 and they are charging £18 for what the US pay $10 for which works out about 2 1/2 times the price. I know 'they' use the excuse of shipping and import duties but please
Have to keep it in mind though as I don't really see any case that won't fit in and should stop a lot of peoples complaints about throttling or overheating issues. Just a pity its so expensive for the UK market
I'd be tempted to use heatsink glue as well, as thats what I used for my custom heatsink block I use with a tiny fan on top. The problem is with that idea, its NEVER coming off as its basically epoxy heatsink paste

@steptoe if you are looking for just the kintaro heatsink go to kintaro’s site or amazon.

I think you're confusing the heatsink with the case. The heatsink alone is £9 on Amazon's UK site, vs the $10 on the US site:

They are selling the US style case incl. heat-sink for £10.91 on AMZN UK, obviously it is not compatible with the 3B+ even though is says it is.

Didn't look at Amazon, usually I do. Heatsink only for £9 with postage on PRIME delivery
Thats a bargain for custom heatsink lump that big and will be looking into that for daughters OSMC KODI/RetroSMC set-up once I pick-up another PI3B
-
@jonnykesh there is a 3b and a 3b+ version. The heatsink is different between the two.
-
@steptoe i bought two of the super kintaro (not kuma version) cases with the 3b heatsinks from them on amazon for $6 each with free shipping. Was well worth it for the heatsinks alone.
-
@jonnykesh also that one states b+ not 3 b+ There is a difference as a b+ is a pi 1
-
@edmaul69 Granted, if you know what the layout of the board is. Then you are fine. Just seems like it will catch a few people out. Seems vague and poorly worded to me.
Call it a Pi 1B+ just to be definitive.
