      @ecks
hi, is your Ninja Baseball Batman runs well in lr-mame2003 or lr-fba? as my test result, the sound seems shutter and framerate is around 47fps, not good. i use 3b+ and the latest version of retropie image.

I am playing using FBA and forgot if it is the 2012 one or not and i get flawless 60 fps with no stutters and i haven't overclocked my Pi yet and i am using the 3B+ as well.

@ecks yes, please. i tested advmame1.4, it runs well with 60fps and no shutters, but the sound delays, then i tried advmame3.8, the speed and sound are ok, but it's hard to map my ps3 wireless controller, and my bezel is missing. after google quite a long time, i found advmame is not driven by retroarch, so controller mapping and bezel setting no longer work. what a pity. if lr-fbalpha can run this game well, that would be nice.

@sunnymo So i am not able to record at the moment cause my phone is not working well but i am using lr-fbalpha to confirm and found out i was getting on average instead 55 fps but i am also going to overclock my Pi to at least 1.5GHz which it should improve the framerate which from a guide i found i am going to have my Pi run at these clocks "1.5Ghz CPU 500Mhz gpu Overclock profile" which might improve any game and if your Pi has heatsinks and a fan that would be very good for overclocking.

@ecks thanks for the reply, i don't have a heatsink, so i not gonna overclock my pi 3b+. i tried advmame3.8 which may be the best emulator for Ninja Baseball Batman, no overclock needed and runs at 60fps, very smoothy. however, advmame3.8 is based on mame 0.106, the bezel can't be at high resolution, it is scaled from the game resolution which is pretty bad. i wonder if there is any solution to this.

Honestly you should have a heatsink by default so your Pi doesn't overheat especially on the bottom where your memory is or just use a case like this one as an example which will cool down the system pretty good

@ecks Or get a similar cooling and much cheaper (in price) case like from BiQu.

@thelostsoul Yes but cheaper doesn't always mean better cause yes the Flirc case is nice but look at the results

You can see it is a lot cooler and honestly i find being in the 40's better than being in the 60's and think when overclocking as well cause that does bring more heat as well.

@ecks I didnt say its better. But it can be good enough. Btw, I was talking about the BiQU. I use the BiQU case on my RP3B and overclocked all 3 parts a lot and it stays under 50 C while gaming. Even while stress testing it with high load much for many hours, it never reaches the throttling temperatures.

Don't misunderstand me. I just gave an alternative recommendation.

@thelostsoul See here is the thing we're using the 3B+ which is slightly different.

MechForce (Amiga) - When I had an Amiga I'd either be playing this or Pinball Fantasies AGA. The greatest Battletech game ever made. The lack of a definitive campaign is its only flaw.

Advance Wars (GBA) - Simple to learn but very difficult to puzzle your way through to the 'S' rank solutions. The War Room maps give hundreds of hours of gameplay.

Street Fighter II Champion Edition (Arcade) - I wasted much of my 20's and a lot of my money on this game.

Wizardry (Apple ][) One of the first turn based RPG dungeon crawl series ever, and still one of the most difficult.

Bubble Bobble (NES) Me and my wife would sit down with a giant bowl of popcorn and spend entire nights playing this completely through. A great partner game.

System Config: Retropie 4.4 with full desktop, RPi 3B, 256gb SD, 5v 2.1A 5,200 mAH USB battery. EasyMSX controller mounted with Pimoroni Hyperpixel 4 (non touch). Also running 4.6 on a 4gb Pi 4 serving as my primary desktop computer now.

I'm curious, why the destinction between supergrafx and pc engine? Aren't they the same?

I thought it was time for an update in this thread. :)

1 Tetris (PSP). I recently discovered this game. Some time ago I was searching for the best Tetris game for Retropie, but missed this one. It is a game from the digital Mini's on the Playstation Network. I don't think you can even legally acquire it anymore (EA lost the Tetris rights). Aside from the lack of a 2 player option, this game has a lot going for it: Clean but nice crisp visuals, a great pumping soundtrack, several different modes of play, hard and soft drops, saving 1 block, looking 4 blocks ahead. The game runs great in PPSSPP.

2 Frogger (Arcade). Put this game on my Pi, mostly because of Seinfeld..but I actually enjoy it quite a lot. However I was disappointed to find out the game doesn't have initials for highscores (which the Seinfeld episode was based on).

3 Street fighter III second impact (Arcade). The fighter I always keep coming back to.

4 Mortal kombat trilogy (PS1). I don't know why but this games plays a lot faster than any arcade Mortal kombat. I like it though; it plays like a Mortal Kombat Turbo.

5 Final fantasy VII (PS1). I don't think I have to explain this one. :)

Many years ago, I played it all the way through with a female friend at a LAN party at my home. Another friend of me complained because we blocked one of the PCs, and because he couldn't stand the ever-repeating music anymore. 😊
