I have now got a 3B+ and have installed Amiberry from scratch using the WHDBooter method, tested a lha file and it worked no problems, my question is, is there anyway to get my old games that are extracted into individual folders to work with the new method or is it a case of having to find and download an lha version please?
I'm afraid not - you will need to locate the LHA equivalents of the games. You should be able to transfer any save files though via the Amiberry Configs folder

Sorry for the topic...but there is a way to load a DEFAULT configuration (.uae file) after have been crete it in amiberry GUI?
Only to avoid to create tons of .uae files for each games.
I need only the config file pick the controller settings.
Thats what the old Config Maker used to do, but now you should not need it as you can just use the host-config settings
That's exactly what the host config file is for.

Please read the section 'host specific settings'

After set right symlinking - basically the three rom kickstart - there sould not be huge issues, despite some games might not working properly, but they boots anyway.

Hello to all of you.
I have an Pi3b+ an i am new to Retropie and Amiberry. After setting up and playing some whdload-Games startet with AmiBerry & whdBooter everything looked fine. But now i have two Games i really want to play, but they wont start at all. The Games are Historyline 1914-1918 and Jaguar XJ220 and i use the .lha-Files from "Retroplay's WHD uploads" like mentioned. Both of them stuck with black Screen and without any Feedback. This Guide telling me for Information i have to delete or rename the "system-configuration"-File in Devs but this Path is not there. For Historyline, i think, i manually have to ad "custom 1=2" for skipping the Intro to anywhere, but i dont know where. To the Configuration(.uae)-File? After two Days of reading and trying i dont know further. Please, can anyone help me?
Thx & Greets

@superkoch both of these games have problems with their WHDLoad slave files. I have reported JaguarXJ220 to the developers.
After running the booter and a script is created, you should go into your RetroPie 'configs' share and find the file
JaguarXJ220Files.auto-startup
orJaguarXJ220Image.auto-startup
and ammend the line startingwhdload
to include theDATA=
parameter:e.g.
WHDLOAD SLAVE="whdloadgame:JaguarXJ220Files/JaguarXJ220Files.slave" PRELOAD NOWRITECACHE NOREQ SPLASHDELAY=0 CUSTOM2=0001 CUSTOM3=0001 DATA="whdloadgame:JaguarXJ220Files/data/"
This is because the game install doesnt pick up the folder by default - which is a bug:
http://mantis.whdload.de/view.php?id=3831There is a similar problem with HistoryLine - in that the game needs a 'manual' setting to load, and the non-default setting should probably be reported to the developers. For this one you need to add
CUSTOM1=2
(i am not sure what this does, but possibly used to pick a level set) -
@HoraceAndSpider What about Another World/Out of this World? It run under Amiberry? It dsnt works on me.
-

What's the status on the possibility to have ipac controllers custom mapped? I'm thinking if it's possible to to map the Amiga buttons and joysticks to some other keyboard inputs?

Hi guys
Got a weird issue, wondering if you could help please.
I Install Amiberry and seteup from source, run a game (Sensi 97/98 in LHA format from Amiga Board and it boots great.
Next time I run it or any game I just get a black screen. So basically I can play any game once then no other games even after a restart.
I have even removed the autoboot config file and debug file and it still doesnt work
zip's work fine still
seen something about different controllers, tried 2 different controllers and its the same
running retropie 4.4 on odroid xu4
thanks in advance

@horaceandspider Thanks Man, you made my Day. I tried before to open up the .auto-startup with Windows-Editor, but there was only Chinese Signs and so i thought that this is not the right File to edit. After your Post i opened it with WordPad, was able to read and alter the content, but after saving the File lost something and it doesnt work too. But now i use an Editor and everything works as expectet. This brings me to another Question: After trying out more Games, i found some not working. Is there a Thread for asking for Help and listing them or is this Thread the right?
By the Way: In Historyline Custom1=1 is for showing, Custom1=2 for skipping the Intro. -

I would suggest using the GitHub support for Amiberry
By the Way: In Historyline Custom1=1 is for showing, Custom1=2 for skipping the Intro.
Ahh yes. Very silly of the slave author not to have the CUSTOM1=0 (default) work!

Seem to be having trouble getting Amiberry to let me quit using my PS3 controller's PS button.
Its working in all my retroarch based games,
I have: input_exit_emulator_btn = "16"
In my retroarch.cfg for amiberry and in my controller config and still no luck.
Everything else about the controller works fine.
Anyone have a suggestion?
-
@wildkatct I don't believe the PS button is available as a hotkey in Amiberry. More info: https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/wiki/Customised-Controls#checking-for-available-retroarch-mapping
-
You might try configuring whatever
.uae
file you're using manually. They're located at/opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/conf/
.Look for the line:
button_for_quit=-1
...and try changing it to:
button_for_quit=-16
-
I had ones in there for a500 and a1200, added it to both, no luck.

Any button should be fine to use as a hotkey. Whatever button you set in the retroarch config (i.e. #16) should work fine.
However,
input_exit_emulator_btn = "16"
requires the PS button (16) to be pressed with the hotkey button (whatever you set this as)@ WildkatCT what are you setting
input_enable_hotkey_btn =
to? Have you checked the input custom panel to see that amiberry is picking up your retroarch config? (it will be marked with an [R])
