First boot up of retropie comes up with a command line.
-
@herb_fargus Okay, that makes sense. So, every setting that recreates the startup script could be used as a "fix" for some autostart problems – if the splash screen setting isn't the only one that does it, of course.
Thank you for expanding my knowledge of this world. :) -
@clyde im stuck can u plz help me
-
@blazein What exactly have you tried to fix your problem ?
-
@mitu i tried everything to get of the command line to start playing all i did was get another elumator and then restart like dude said and now stuck on the command screen and cant get of to play games again
-
@blazein said in First boot up of retropie comes up with a command line.:
i tried everything
What does 'everything' mean ? This is what I've asked. This question is already answered in several topics in the forum:
- https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/18591/asking-for-retropie-login-on-boot-after-update
Have you tried any of the solutions posted in those topics ?
-
@mitu cant run nothing from the command line
-
@mitu tried now still nothing
-
@blazein Did you login first ? Username is
pi
, password israspberry
. -
@mitu yes done that its on the screen with the joystick
uptime
memory
running processes
ip adress
temper -
the thing is was working till i restarted the retropie from the retropie menu
-
OK, so if you're at the command prompt, then run
sudo raspi-config
and you'll be presented with a menu, where you can follow the instructions from the topics I mentioned and re-enable auto-login.
What happens if you typesudo raspi-config
and press enter after you login ? -
@mitu comes up with rasppberry pi software confguration tool
-
@blazein OK, so it works - did you read any of the topics I mentioned ?
-
@mitu yes done both and then click finish
-
@blazein Then you may have a different problem. The way RetroPie configures auto-login is exactly how you set it up in
raspi-config
, so if it doesn't work now then there's another problem at stake. -
@blazein then says reboot now click yes
-
@blazein now gone back to the command screen
-
@blazein can u give me commands that u might think work
-
@blazein im doin the update and upgrade u think that work
-
what does this mean
pure virtual method called terminate called without an active exception aborted
