Web Browser On Emulation Station !
-
you can install a desktop environment which has a browser (and then launch it from Emulation Station) https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/FAQ#where-did-the-desktop-go
-
@Hydro that would be cool. A stand alone type browser that could run in ports or even its own tab.
With Kodi, the emulators and a web browser it would comprise about 99% of my daily computing, if YouTube and Netflix could run smoothly that is. -
You can install Chromium, Iceweasel (Firefox) or Kweb (Minimal Kiosk Browser) from zerojay's repo that should launch from the Ports section.
-
@dudleydes thank you, I'll give it a try.

@dudleydes Hey! this worked a-OK to install chromium on EM! It shows under "Ports", nad works great! I needed a browser to register streaming for the MAC for a certain plugin on a certain K-named port ;)
Thanks a million for sharing! -
@dragon_0n4 you're allowed to say Kodi...
-
chromium in kodi there is a warning that it collects data and not recce-mended doing persanal things like banking.. They should just add a good browser to the default repasatory. Are the other ones good?

BRO paste these commands in terminal
cd
git clone https://github.com/zerojay/RetroPie-Extra.git
cd RetroPie-Extra/
./install-extras.shthen..
cd
cd RetroPie-Setup
sudo ./retropie_setup.shNow go to raspberry pi configuration
go to manage experimental packages and search Chromium over there and install
took me around 5 hours to configure install chromium
and
HUZZAH!
go to terminal again and type sudo reboot.
On the next boot it will be available under ports section.
Hope this helped :-) . -

Yes. The script will install the browser under the
Ports
system, so you actualy start the browser from Emulationstation. -
