So I finally tried Demon Front on my pi3b+ at 1.5ghz, and while it's running at a reported 60fps, there's a lot of jerky/slow movements. Running left/right and shooting is smooth but jumping or incoming projectiles are not. Is the real arcade like this or is this an emulation problem?

Pi3b+ at 1.5ghz (no lightning bolt or temp icon)
Official Retropie 4.4.2 updated as of typing this.
lr-fbalpha (binary and source) and lr-fbalpha2012 binary with same results.
      Tested with dmnfrnt.zip and dmnfrntpcb.zip
Tested with lr-mame 0.201 on my windows pc with same results.
      PC is i7 3930k at 4.4Ghz with a GTX 1080 16GB ram.

I guess the game is naturally that way.

@darksavior You can compare it to this video, it says its not MAME.

@thelostsoul Hard to tell. Video is 30fps. A 60fps video might smooth things out.

I'm being a dummy. I'll try it on mame on my pc.

@darksavior I just saw in the compatibility sheet for FBA someone made comments to this game, that it have low fps/audio issues. Maybe someone else can try it, I don't have it installed currently.

@thelostsoul Yea that's for previous pi's. As I said, the counter stays at a solid 60fps. The character moves smoothly but the jumping/projectile animations are jerky.

@darksavior Just to be sure, did you try a different rom? I myself don't think the rom should be the problem, but whenever I had a problem, everyone asked me to test a different one.

@thelostsoul If the game loads, no need to do that.

Anyways, I tested latest lr-mame 0.201 on my pc. Same thing. Tested with dmnfrnt.zip and dmnfrntpcb.zip.

These guys are playing the actual arcade board. They get the same slowdowns. Meh. I guess that's the way it was programmed.

@darksavior A lot of arcade games have slow downs and sometimes even by design. So, this does not suprise me.

@darksavior FBAlpha has an CPU overclocking option - accessible in the Core options from the RGUI - which might speed things up.

Yes, this one uses a m68k cpu so the overclocking option will most likely affect it (iirc the overclocking option only affects m68k games in fba).

I tried overclocking on my pc but didn't notice anything. It's weird. Maybe the game itself just uses less frames for jumping/projectiles. The player can smoothly move left/right while at the same time an enemy can throw a projectile at a lower framerate. The whole game doesn't slow down.
