Similar to OP, majority of my daily music consists of New Retro Wave music. I've actually been a listener for the last 10+ years (before Tron-Legacy and Drive made it popular), and it was these songs that got me back into building a retropie to relive my childhood in the 80s.

I curate a spotify playlist for myself and coworkers who are into similar music. Check it out if you're curious. Great playlist to push codes and/or drive down the coastline in your convertible with.

For retro music, I usually listen to VideoGames Live albums, though what I really enjoy are some of the work by FamilyJules or other people who cover retro music in rock/metal.

This is a favourite of mine.

"The Megas" are also a fun Mega Man cover band.

I've actually been more into post-2000s punk rock these days, but I'll look into New Retro Wave.

@madmodder123 Its about Harzer cheese and its beneficial effects to muscle buildup. :)

Rummelsnuff ("Rummel" means funfair in German) is the big guy with the brown hat. The other singer with the higher voice is his regular partner Christian Asbach, and the small tattooed guy is their keyboarder Häusi Eisenkumpel (roughly translated to "Häusi Ironbuddy"). The other guys I don't know, they might just be some buddies.

I like them for their music as well as their friendly and funny attitude, although Rummelsnuff also has very good sad and dark songs in his repertoire. I met him (very briefly) at two concerts when he invited the audience to hang out with him at the bar afterwards. And I have this picture hanging in my flat's corridor signed from him. :) Its revenues go to a local animal shelter.

If you like to see more from him, here's the official playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwDynB4HZmWID7u-9dlXn6Zrz45ZEkMFa

edit : From the list, a song similar to "Harzer Käse" would be "Bratwurstzange", a hymn to barbecue and real men (especially those from Thuringia) who turn their meat without a barbecue tong, which is called Grillzange or Bratwurstzange in German. ;)

Do you know PRESS PLAY ON TAPE? They covered (mostly?) C64 tunes with live instruments, but I don't know if they're still active. I own two CD albums from them.

Here's their take on Rob Hubbard's track for Monty On The Run:

@clyde I did not, but now I will look into them :)

                      They remind me of Minibosses.

I like its program very much, but alas, the stream breaks off very often here in Germany. :(

I've been listening to a lot of StarBomb lately. Egoraptor and Ninja Sex Party got together to sing/rap about videogames.

@Clyde Did you change which server you are using? If you select "Listen with MP3" and open the file it shows a playlist of the different servers: http://puu.sh/BN3Jz/db76337800.png

@mattrixk Thanks for StarBomb, I liked it so much that I sent it immediatly to two friends of mine (male & female). :)

@madmodder123 Thanks for the tip. Though I prefer ogg to mp3, it also has multiple servers. I'll report how stable they are, starting with the European one, http://relay-ams.gameowls.com:80/all.ogg.

@all: Here's another artist I stumbled upon this year: Ghostpoet

The second one sends shivers down my spine every time I listen to it. 😯

edit: Strange, the first video shows "Video unavailable" in the embedded version here. But it works for me directly on YouTube. Regional blocking for retropie.org.uk seems improbable, because Ghostpoet is from the UK.

Novo Amor released their newest album on YouTube about two days ago.

Their videos are so good and I hope they will make a few more of them with these current songs.

These have weird videos but they are awesome Castlevania influenced songs by Death Therapy!

Right now I'm listening to Tracks by Bruce Springsteen

(Huge Bruce fan if you couldn't tell)

Some of the cut stuff is better than what made the album.

Currently, the Nightwish. To be more specific, the Wishmaster album. Also I make pauses for Sabaton.
