Are you using a case for your PI ? Did you configure any overclocking for the PI ? Is the USB driver powered externally or just from the PI ?

@mitu Yes I'm using a case, I remove the top to prevent overheating during play and have heat sinks (No temp warning since removing the top.) Not overclocked. USB drive is thumb drive so there isn't an option for external power.

@Ravensourcious Try removing the PI from the case and see if you still encounter the problem. There have been countless similar reports of power problems with the NesPI cases - are you using one ?

@Ravensourcious Do you have any special config.txt settings for the GPU (memory split) ? Do you have any other extra configurations/programs installed (i.e. video screensaver, video previews, MDB music.. ) ?

No extra setting or programs, the only editing to the config.txt has been to shutdown the bluetooth.

@Ravensourcious It still looks like a power issue. Are you able to try another power supply ?

@mitu what power supply is suggested? I'll have to purchase a new one, I was avoiding spending money on a possible solution, but if its the only solution left I guess I don't have a choice.

@Ravensourcious I can't guarantee it would solve you issue, it's just that the symptoms match an insufficient power supply.

@mitu I'm going to try reflashing my sd card first while I wait for my power supply to come in, since that's free. What's the best suggestion for a good power supply?

After the reflashing I've been running tests for a few hours tonight and haven't seen it freeze. Will keep this yup to date if the solution holds
