Neo Geo Mini theme

@juma
Hi at @juma
I'll try and help but I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve. What do you mean exactly by 'enlarge the images of the covers'. Do you mean enlarging the entire tile or just the picture within the tile. Or do you mean stretching the cover to fill the space in the tile. If you could post a picture showing what you're trying to achieve that would be helpful and I can try to assist you. -
@ruckage Hello, you are very kind to answer me.
In my case I play on a 21 "CRT TV, I would like to enlarge the image of the game, I have already been able to" eliminate "the selection frame, but I can not enlarge that image. What should I adjust in the XML line to change that parameter?I show you a simulation of my idea.
https://ibb.co/jUUS00Thanks again, if I can help with something, do not hesitate to tell me, especially at the editing and graphic level.

hey @ruckage this theme only supports carousel right? Which isn't in the main build of Emulationstation yet right?
-
@juma If you want the selected game image to appear bigger then you need to change the following parameter:
<gridtile name="selected"> <size>0.1916666666666667 0.5777777777777778</size> </gridtile>
If you want the others game image to appear bigger then you need to change the following parameter:
<gridtile name="default"> <size>0.1916666666666667 0.5777777777777778</size> </gridtile>

@MrJordaaany This theme use the gridview which haven't made it to the stable branch yet, you can still try it out on your Pi by installing emulation-dev package from the "experimental packages" section.
-
Hello, does this theme use the same format of gamelist like other themes?
-
I seem to be having issues with mine. I've scraped a load of images but they aren't appearing in your theme. Do I need to add them to another folder for your theme to work?
-
Hello. Do the scraped images appear in other themes? Are you definitely using a version of ES that supports grid view?

Yes they show up in other themes, yes i've switched it to grid view and the theme loads fine, just no game images are showing...
-
What version of ES are you using?
Can you post an example of one of your scraped images and is there anywhere you could post your gamelist.xml file so I can take a look? -
Mmmm I don't think I'm going to get to the bottom of this anytime soon. I don't have any gamelist files and now I don't have any icons in settings screen....

@ballboff Check your available disk space.

You know what, you might have something here. I was having some read/write issues with my themes too.
-
Ok, so I installed a fresh vanilla image and reset everything to default. I think I dicked around with it too much previously. I'm still having the same issue with this theme. I'm using the internal scraper and the images appear in all the other themes, just not this one. Do I need to use a different scraper? Perhaps one that downloads boxart as well as screen grabs?

@ballboff
As I said previously I'm going to need more info. You still haven't told me what version of EmulationStation you're using and I 'd like to see your gamelist.xml and an example of one of the scraped screenshots to rule out any problems with them.
Also what model of raspberry pi are you using? -

Also what model of raspberry pi are you using?I don't see why any of that matters. The gamelist file and the images folder isn't going to be any different on a different pi or a different version of emulation station. I just need to know that hat files I'm editing and what folder I need to point to to pick up my images.

Suit yourself, I was trying to help but i'm clearly wasting my time. -

Suit yourself, I was trying to help but i'm clearly wasting my time. No, you're wasting my time. Asking a load of questions that aren't relevant to fixing the issue. It's your theme, you should be able to offer assistance on how to set it up, otherwise what's the point in sharing it?
-
@ballboff if an experienced user and theme developer asks you for information, assume it's important. emulationstation has changed drastically in the way it handles metadata and images, so this stuff is relevant. all you needed to do is state that and upload your xml and the shot etc, and we could easily diagnose your issue.
remember, this is all for free, no-one is your slave, here. please rethink your attitude.

I can vouch that this theme works 100% as I use it myself and have also modded it to my personal theme (pi).
@ballboff instead of trying to sound smart when someone is being polite to you (because that is how it has come across), why not just answer some questions that people ask you? As others have said this could be multiple possibilities.
What version windows or pi? Does your gamelist.xml have any data? Does the <image> tag link up with your image folder within the gamelist.xml? on the Gridview do you see NES style cartridge vectors in place of your images on the gridview carousel or no image at all?...and so on. Please give more information on what the issue is.This is the sort of info you should be letting people know.
Just answer the questions that @ruckage asks you and he will do his best to help you out as he does with all other users. It's that simple.
UPDATE: if your images are not displaying and you do not see any NES style cartridge vector in place of your image - please see this post https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/19016/neo-geo-mini-theme/22
(this could be because your images are scraped too small and not displaying within the grid?)...just a thought.
