      What is the MAME ROW?

MAME ROW stands for MAME Random Of the Week. We randomly select an arcade game from the 0.78 MAME Reference Set to play on the week. The idea is to play games we've never played before, interact with other forum members, post hi-scores, share game strategies, fun facts, and (the most important) HAVE FUN!

      Notes:

      1. We usually post hi-scores screenshots after playing with only one credit. If you used more than one credit, please mention it on your post.

      2. There's no need to use RetroPie to join the MAME ROW! You can play it on any platform you want.

      3. Feel free to post your hi-score (or any content about the game) anytime you want on the previous rounds topics (link below).

Every Monday we create a topic at the "General Discussion and Gaming > MAME Random Of the Week" forum section with the 3 random games to be voted. And on Wednesday we check the result.

These "rules" are constantly being improved!

Low voter turnout this week. It was a tie between Super Spy and War of the Bugs. I did a non-scientific coin toss and the win goes to War of the Bugs or Monsterous Manouvers in a Mushroom Maze

          Thanks for running it!

I apologize, have a sick kid at home and my wife is traveling for work so I'm really on full-time parenting this week, not much time for gaming.

I would like to add the control names for War of the Bugs in MAME 2003-Plus. From what I can tell, there is just one button -- "Fire".

Can anyone confirm that this cabinet labeled the button as "Fire"? I am striking out trying to find a control panel or cabinet photo.

War of the Bugs looks like a simple Centipede clone. Cyberbots is sort-of like a 1v1 fighter spin-off to Amo(u)red Warriors (which is an awesome beat 'em up). And The Super Spy is a cool first-person arcade title. You actually don't see many first-person arcade titles without a gun peripheral attached to the cabinet. There are a ton of third-person perspective games out there. Tough decision.

After long long time of absence in MAME RoW - here is my contribution ;)
It's just 29340 pts. But hell it's a good game anyway. It's a Centipede, Phoenix clone. The sound effects are amazing (1981) and give a nice retro touch.

One Play? 20ct??? So two dimes? Am I right?

Not terribly exciting, but I have added a "Fire" control label for War of the Bugs in MAME 2003-Plus.

While I was working in the Galaxian driver, I went ahead and added control labels for a couple of dozen other one-button shooters derived from Galaxian hardware there as well.
