PS1 Memory Card Save imports
-
I followed the guide here: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/#importing-save-files
and was able to convert some old save files i found online to the proper format, but when I run the game thru the .m3u file i cannot see any memory blocks. When I run the first disc on its own I can see the memory card that I made by playing but nothing else. Am I misreading how to load these files over to the pie? I simply dumped them into the roms section of the usb i have been using to transfer things with, do I need to look at somewhere on the SD card over the network?

@240pnoob What is the name of your save ? Does it coincide with the name of the
game.m3u
you're starting ? -
@mitu
i named one after disc1, another after disc2 and then im nearly certain i named another after the .m3u file but it may not have been exact. I will have to check tomorrow. Anyway i just dropped them into the roms section in the psx folder on my usb, should I be lookin somewhere on the sd card directly? -
@240pnoob The save file is usually next to the ROM file, so in your case it would be on USB. Check if you named your file correctly, after the name of the
rom
(i.e. the.m3u
file). Another problem might be that the save is incorrectly converted or not compatible. -
@mitu
what file extension does pcsx rearmed emulator use for save memory? I have it in .srm now but it could be something else I suppose -
The 1st memory card should be
.srm
. Without more info (https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first) and a log file it's hard to say why it doesn't work. -

Version 4.1 is more than 2 years old - you should update to a more current version.
Are you able to load the save file in another emulator - or in the emulator that produced it - to check that it's correct ? -
@mitu
i just checked an im actually runnin ver 4.4, i can download other emulators and run them on a separate pc and see if they recognize the save files, but it will have to be later. Thanks for the help
