lr-mame2000 hiscores not saved

Is it a fact that lr-mame2000 does not save hiscores after exit... ????
I know I can switch to mame4all but it not libretro so not really an option
I know I can switch to other mame versions but I am building a vertical mame cabinet with older games with a Pi zero W so the speed is excellent with lr-mame2000 -

Probably not supported by the core - https://github.com/libretro/mame2000-libretro/issues/24.

That stinks because my games look soooo much better in this version with all the overlays. @mitu , you really know...everything!

@Hankola Unless you're using a PI 0/1, there's little reason to use mame2000 instead of Mame2003(-plus) or FBAlpha.

Maybe its finally time to download a new complete merged set... these are pretty old...

libretro arcade emulators don't support Merged romsets... you probably want Full Non-Merged, Non-Merged, or Split.

Actually all I could find was Full Non-Merged. So that was lucky!

@Hankola yes mame2003 and mame2003+ will save high scores
