      Hi. I would like to power the Pi and Xbox controller receiver and make it portable for RetroPie. I purchased a Raspberry Pi power pack from Ebay just like the one in this link. (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lithium-Battery-Pack-Expansion-Board-Power-Supply-with-Switch-for-Raspberry-Pi-3-/192568580642?hash=item2cd5fb5a22). It powers my Pi and a 5 inch HDMI display perfectly but when I connect my Xbox controller receiver into the Pi, I get the lightning bolt on the display. I was wondering if I could somehow power the controller receiver separately ( perhaps with a power bank or another power pack). My Pi is a model 3 B. I'm using the RetroPie v4.4 image from the website. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

        is it an xbox one controller

          Sorry. I meant to put it is Xbox 360 controller. I'm thinking maybe I could power the display separately, may be easier. I'm not sure.

            try connrcting them over bluetooth

                  Yes. I have receiver. That was my problem. When I connected the receiver, I would get the lightning bolt, but now I am using a 10,000maH powerbank with 2.4A output and I have not had an issue so far. Thanks for your help.
