      Hi guys,

I have just purchased a Rasberry PI 3B+
I have purchased a SanDisk class 10 16GB micro SD
I have flashed the latest version of "Retro PI" (4.4) to the card
I have inserted the card, keyboard, HDMI and power supply
Then it turns on, Retropi graphic pops up then turns into a DOS or text based loading screen
      Says country code not selected

When I googled this, it said to type: raspi-config", it came back saying that wont work try "sudo raspi-config" I typed that and it entered a config type menu.
Then I selected network settings and entered the SSID and password, then I went to update and
it successfuly updated - indicating the WiFi was correctly setup, then exit.

Then on restarting now it boots up into "Emulisation" menu, then asks to configure a controller, I setup the keyboard.

Now what? where do I put the roms, is there any tutorials, is this emulisation the Retropi interface?.

Sorry I am a noob, seems complicated. Am I on the right track? Help!!!

@rodney007xx welcome! You're well on your way.

Emulation Station is the frontend that allows you to play ROMs.

To add ROMs just follow one these methods now that you're connected to your network. Come back if you have problems or get it up and going!

What systems / arcades are you looking to play?

@simpleethat Hi, Thanks for your help, just want to play some SNES and mame etc.

My friend said that his interface of retro PI looked nicer, perhps its because he is using a pre-made image with
              a different skin?

Hi, Thanks. I didnt realise that things were working but yes I just needed roms. I simply downloaded a recent image (32gb)
for Retro Pi 4.4 and it loaded up fine with games.

Then I just struggled through figuring our the controls and using the "hot key" button to exit games etc.

Everything seems to be ok now. Thanks for your assistance :-)

You can install many so-called "themes" for Retropie. See the Docs about how to install them, and for a list of many (all?) of the themes with screenshots.

Welcome to the Retropie community. Have fun. :)
