      I'm having issues with some psx games in retropie. Toy Story 2 and A Bugs Life. The controller doesn't respond. The games where fine a few days ago and suddenly stop working. I'm using arcade sticks in a bartop just for reference. Also i tried switching some things in the retroarch menu and nothing.

        What things ? Your problem seems to be similar to this. How is your controller set-up ? Analog or Standard ?

          I solved the issue by deleting the cfg file in opt/pi/retropie/configs/psx. After that start a game and relocate the bios files. Then "save core overrides" and everything is working again. 22 games tested.

            @Shortgaze If you've deleted the retroarch.cfg file, the the BIOS folder and core options file will be unset. You should have re-installed the lr-pcsx_rearmed package, which creates the correct retroarch.cfg file.

              Should i then reinstall the lr-pcsx_rearmed package?

              Btw thanks for the help.

                @Shortgaze Yes, this way you'll not have other problems down the road. Or you can just replace the retroarch.cfg file (from the psx config folder) with

                input_remapping_directory = "/opt/retropie/configs/psx/"

                #include "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg"

                This is the default config file.

                  It looks like you solved the issue. Both of these games should have Analog or Dualshock Support. By the way, the PSX Analog came out early 1996 and the dualshock was released mid 1997.

                  I was having a similar problem. With only one of a 100 or so PSX games: Arc Arena: Monster Tournament. I backed up the configs, and deleted them and this fixed it so I am going to investigate further to see what is happening here. Thanks for the tip.

                  It appears that this game does not work with any BIOS emulation other than the built-in HLE BIOS. It was hard for me to figure out because I have auto-load state and the HLE options needs to have a full reset without loading states to work.

                  I don't know why this is. I attempted to use multiple BIOS by changing their availability in the BIOS folder, scph1001 then 5501 / 7001 and 101 no results. The controller isn't passed through to the emulation,
                  this in lr-pcsxr.

                  In pcsxr this is not a issue, using bios SCPH1001 no problem.

                      @Efriim I was having issues with Ape Escape because I use a bartop and arcade sticks and the game is dualshock only. I bought a PS3 controller to only play that specific game.

                        ps3 controllers are good, windows drivers used to be hard to install.

                        My problem with arc arena, I tried the usual things including HLE bios but I didnt get a full reset for it to work because of autoload. I didn't think of deleting the config, doing so changed the default system directory to the content folder so no BIOS was found and so it loaded the HLE and worked. System Directory was the first setting I changed back, and the controller stopped working when it loaded the SCPH bios again. Anyways thanks.
