Fouth player won't work

So I was able to get the four player Turtles in Time and Simpsons to work on my arcade cabinet but for some reason the fourth player controls won't work. I can add credits for it but the joystick and both buttons do nothing yet if I switch to the original TMNT sd card that came with the cabinet it works fine. Any ideas how to fix this?

What emulator are you using ? Are you using the 4p ROM ? If you're using a Libretro (RetroArch) emulator, you should be able to bring up the RGUI (
Select + X) and check in Settings -> Input if the 4th player is assigned a controller. -
@mitu I purchased a a four player arcade cabinet set to the original Ninja Turtles four player set up. A joystick and two buttons for each player plus a credit button for each. Honestly I'm very new to this and I'm learning little by little
