Carbon theme: background transitions as well as controller graphic
-
I'm using the default Carbon theme for my RetroPie install, and despite making no modifications to this whatsoever, I've hit a snag.
When transitioning between consoles on the Emulation Station main screen, not only does the controller artwork fade/slide, but the background does as well! The carbon effect and the red line at the bottom fade out and in, or slide from right to left, in time with the graphics.
This is really distracting and I'd love to revert it to how it was before. Can someone help me understand how this might have happened, and how to go about fixing it? Thank you!

@Crispy Change the
Transition
setting from the UI Options menu toSlide
orInstant
, it's probably set toFade
. -
@mitu Thanks Mitu, I am sure that setting only used to affect the outline of the controller at the top, not the carbon-effect background, red line above the help icons, and so on. Is it possible a change elsewhere on the system (I run PIXEL) could have affected the default behaviour? Is there an easy way to access the artwork / 'CSS' so I can investigate?

@Crispy The only change that would affect this should be the changes in Emulationstation. The desktop - I assume - is only started on-demand.
You can take a look at the theme - it's in/etc/emulationstation/themes/carbon
. If you wish to modify it, copy the folder to$HOME/.emulationstation/themes/carbon-mine
and make your modifications there.
