      Hi all,

I have a question regarding controller on RetroPie. I've tried a few things but maybe someone knows how to do it.

I have two arcade sticks and two Xbox360 controllers. When I setup the Xbox controllers, they are coming up as controller 1 and controller 2. The arcade sticks are coming up as controller 3 and 4.

I cannot find a way to make the Xbox controllers 3 & 4. I have changed it in Raspberry setup so the arcade sticks are 1 & 2 and Xbox 3 &4 but when I start the games the Xbox are picked up as 1& 2.

Arcade sticks are connected to USB port 1 and 2, and the Xbox wireless receiver on USB port 3.

      Any ideas?

      Thank you

@Babis Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

I assume you mean 'RetroPie-Setup' here - did you use the Advanced Configuration Editor to change the order of the gamepads ?

What emulator are you using ? The change would work for RetroArch/Libretro based emulators only.

Hi and thank you for your response.

Yes. I meant RetroPie. Yes. I did use the Advanced Configburation Editor and changed the order. Using RetroArch/Libretro based emulator.

          See below for more info:

Pi Model or other hardware: 3B

RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.4
Built From: Bought it. Update it two weeks ago
USB Devices connected: 2 arcade sticks, 1 wireless Xbox 360 receiver, 1 keyboard/mouse wireless usb
Controller used: Arcade sticks, Xbox 360 controllers
Error messages received: No error. I setup the Xbox controllers as 3 & 4, but when I try to e.g. setup MAME controllers arcade sticks show as 3 & 4
Guide used: everything is taken from retropie.org.uk
          Emulator: Multiple
How to replicate the problem: Start a game and arcade sticks show as 3 & 4

          Thank you

We don't support 3rd party images (which might have other customizations and configurations applied) or scalpers that sell RetroPie - selling Retropie is against the project's license.
Use the image from retropie.org.uk/download and re-try the same configuration on a fresh image. If that doesn't work, come back and at least specify the emulator used - the configuration is only applied to RetroArch (lr-..) based emulators.

              Thank you for your feedback.

              Will try that.

If I install a fresh image of retropie will my roms remain or do I have to back them up and re upload them?

Bought it from a work colleague a few years back.It was setup by him. Didn't buy from a seller or a shop.

              Thanks again.

              Cheers

A fresh image will have only RetroPie, no ROMs are included in the image. You'll have to back them up if you like to keep your existing files.
