Running Coleco Adam games

I can't even find fbneo in Retropie Setup to install it :(
Then your setup script must be heavily outdated, but anyway bluemsx & mess2016 probably run those games too.
-
@barbudreadmon Nope, tried both of those. But am about to update the setup script - was scared to in case it tried to install Raspbian Stretch...
-
@SpudsMcToole Coleco Adam works for me on Jessie using CoolCV. I can't see anything obviously wrong in your configs.
-
@spud11 Gah. Just updated CoolCV from the latest Retropie script and still nothing :(
-
@SpudsMcToole Okay, that's weird. I moved the Adam ROMs into my normal Coleco folder (not the separate one I set up) and they work! Wonder why the heck they're not running in the separate install.
-
@SpudsMcToole One observation from the es_systems file: did you try changing out the command from colecoadam to just coleco? If you're able to run the roms from the regular coleco directory, then wouldn't it be passing it through the regular coleco command or is colecoadam the standard command as well?
Not too familiar with the coleco stuff on retropie but that would be my first idea of a config item to change out, if nothing else just to keep the Adam stuff separated into its own system.

@SpudsMcToole Your other issue about arkatour "not appearing in list" was also extremely weird, i think you have huge setup issues and imho you should think about reinstalling a fresh retropie and maybe stop doing weird customizations, your customizations don't seem harmless.
Anyway, back at the current issue, if you are fine without shaders, savestates and all other feature retroarch has to offer, i guess CoolCV is fine, otherwise try again with the lr cores but make sure you are providing the right bioses, and make sure you are using the right romsets for mess2016 (& fbneo if you decide to upgrade your setup).

Yup, made no difference. I cannot figure for the life of me what's happening here.

I haven't done any "weird customisations" - I wouldn't know how to. All I did was try to put the Adam ROMs in a separate place to the Coleco ones. It's no stranger than having separate entries for the C64 and the VIC-20, say - they're both running in VICE but it's a lot tidier to keep them apart.
-
@SpudsMcToole Facts prove i'm right, your customizations are obviously causing issues. The fact your ES wouldn't detect arkatour was already a pretty big hint : except if you tell it not to with the "parse gamelist only" option, ES scan folders and list all files, period, yours not doing that means something is broken.
In the first place, over the years i've seen various issues about weird behavior in ES when there are too many systems defined, which might be your problem here if you are dividing each system into several subsystems.
Tidy or working properly, make your choice.

I tried to do something like this (a HACK folder) and had no problems
have you tried checking runcommand.log? -
@SpudsMcToole
Just out of curiosity, which es_systems.cfg do you edit?I always copy the original to /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation and edit it there where it won't get reverted when running updates. Only thing is it also has to be manually updated/synced if additional systems are added as they won't show on the system list if not listed in the customized es_systems.cfg (I'll normally copy-paste from the original file to the copy once the new system is installed). It just saves some of the headache for the future if you have a custom system order you like and don't want to redo it after updating.
