      Hello,

      I'm having an issue with Kodi all of a sudden. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Kodi, both via Retropie and command line.
      It says It's loading and then goes back to the port menu.

      Pi Model or other hardware: 3B+

      RetroPie Version Used : 4.5.1
      Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
      USB Devices connected: SNES controller
      Controller used: kiwitata controller
      Error messages received: None
      Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant):
      Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)
      File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
      Emulator: KODI
      Attachment of config files: https://pastebin.com/k3anRRNR

      Thank you

      Matt

        @Zerphane Looks like your profile/database got corrupted. If you remove or reinstall Kodi, your settings are always kept, you have to move/remove /home/pi/.kodi to start fresh.

          Still getting the issue, removed the folder, uninstalled, rebooted, checked if the folder was there (it was not), reinstalled..same error again.

          Any other suggestions? (other than nuking the build).

          Thank you

              @mitu I removed .kodi folder

              Pastebin of crash log - https://pastebin.com/5N6zc4hp

              Still plenty of space on the card.

              Thank you

                @Zerphane It doesn't look like you moved/removed /home/pi/.kodi
                It stills complains that it cannot open /home/pi/.kodi/userdata/profiles.xml Double check that. If after that it still does not work, my guess is that you have a damaged sdcard.

                  @Rascas I did delete the .kodi folder, I refreshed after the delete and it does not exist. Then I rebooted the system and did a new install of Kodi, and the issue still comes up. I mean it will complain about the folder because it creates it when you install Kodi.

                    @Zerphane Yep, that is why I told you to move/remove the .kodi folder, to create a new one because the old one had problems. If it keeps complaining about the same thing after you remove it, the only thing I can think about is that you have a broken/damaged sdcard. Try making a backup of your sdcard, like with win32diskimager and try restoring the image to the same sdcard or a new one.

                      @Rascas Yeah, I'll try that, because the folder is gone, and a fresh one still flags as an issue. I may also try snagging the .kodi folder from a working unit and copying it onto this card as well.

                        On retropie that folder is a symlink to /opt/retropie/configs/ports/kodiso removing the link wont remove the old files. You have to delete from the other location.

                          @BuZz so deleting the .kodi doesn't do the job? What else do I need to delete? (I didnt' understand the end of your post)

                            @Zerphane Remove /opt/retropie/configs/ports/kodi
                            Something like this will do the job:

                            sudo rm -r /opt/retropie/configs/ports/kodi

                              I corrected my terrible typos. I had someone ring my doorbell and accidentally hit send so it was half gibberish. Sorry haha.

                              That's what happens when you try and type on a phone with fingers that look like pork sausages and get distracted half way.
