After many hours on google et al I was able to figure out the reason for my controller on my arcade losing its configuration and getting it scrambled each time I entered games. When I initially setup by button wiring, I randomly plugged them as per the instructions from the manufacturer. However upon taking it apart and reviewing the controller board, they all have a specific place to be connected. So I unplugged all connections and ensured I add them to the correct place and more importantly that both sides were identically connected and that the mother board matches on both sides. I know it was an old post, but since I just ran across it, I think it might help someone with similar issue. Cheers

          hey hi
how did you solved your problem? I have similar issues with the arcade controller of my cabinet. After configured the arcade Control in the reicast conf/menu, I launched a game and try to play. But no buttons work.
