    Hey all!

I am a beginner to this stuff and for some reason, I have found that my SNES Emulator option in the main menu is placed in a really weird spot between the retropie options and all games. There is a link for the image below.

Is there a way to re-configure this so it isn't the case as it being separate to the other emulators really bugs me off. I searched up how to re-arrange these but the forum only instructed on how to re-configure the emulators and not the settings and other stuff.

Thanks so much in advance for your help!
    Finn.

Hi there, it may look like it's in the wrong position but it's because the menus are alphabetical. So in your case it goes:-

      NES
      Retropie Setup/settings
      SNES

So it makes the SNES appear like it's at the back of the menu but anything after R will appear there, for me it goes:-

      Retropie Setup
      Playstation
      Sega CD
      SNES
      Spectrum
      Virtual Boy

I'm not sure as I've not used it myself, but you can remove the configuration/settings part of the menu by using Kiosk mode https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Child-friendly-EmulationStation

        Thanks for your reply!

Yeah now that you say it that makes a lot of sense.

I would put it in kiosk or kids mode but I'd prefer to have those options there, although if there isn't a better solution, that would honestly look better in my opinion then the weirdness that it is now. I wish there was an easy way to move these all. That's an emulation station issue I suppose.

But again thanks for your help! :)

Sort of, EmulationStation will show them in the order they're listed in the configuration file, default is alphabetically. The easiest solution to change the display order is to copy (customize) and edit the es_systems.cfg file and re-arrange the systems around - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/EmulationStation/#es_systemscfg-edits. Note that doing this, any new systems added (by installing other emulators) will not appear in your list unless you re-add them to your custom file.

            Hey Mitu!

I didn't mention it in the post but I did try this but the issue is that the retropie config settings, last played, favourites, etc. aren't included in this file due to them presumably not being recognised as systems... so as such this didn't work out. When I said "to move these all" I meant including these extras that arent really systems. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

@lucidious I see. Moving the collections is indeed not possible by editing the configuration file. You can at most disable from from showing up.

@mitu Yeah, unfortunately. How would I go about disabling them? Kiosk mode didn't work.

Use the Game Collection Settings menu in EmulationStation and disable the Automatic Game Collections entries.

@mitu But this wouldn't remove the config collection which is the collection causing the issue. I think I'm just going to have to deal with this awkward placement. Thanks for trying to help though!

For that you can edit the es_systems.cfg, like I mentioned before.

Wow! I am literally blind how did I not see that when I looked in the config before...

Thanks so much! This works perfectly!
