I bought a Gameboy 1up Xl recently with a raspberry pi 3b+ and it was working fine until I decided to connect it to wifi and update. With this, some problems appeared:

      • the fan goes louder on startup, then it fades to normal (not really a problem but it didn't happen when it arrived)
      • I can't seem to charge it, it has 4 lights indicating battery but, while charging, it doesn't go past the second light (I can't say if this is only visual or if it isn't charging, which is weird because it was charging fine before the update)
      • when plugging it through HDMI to the TV, the screen goes blue and starts flickering, but no image shows ( again, this is weird because it was working fine)

Anything I can do to reverse this to factory/fix this?
My programming skills are pretty much non existent, so if there's a way to fix this within the Raspberry's software, that'd be great
      Thanks!

@ifailflash so i take it this was a pre-installed third party build + image? i'm afraid we don't support those.

can your seller not assist? presumably they could point you in the direction of the image they use.

Another proof for "never change a running system"!

IMO: at least when i bought a premade system and i know absolutly nothing about its content...i would never dare to update anything!!!

Concerning "ask the seller": a new way of business seems to be born: i have seen some offers lately that the sellers / creators "will answer questions for $20".

@dankcushions I sent the same message, figured in here would get a faster answer, but sorry, didn't meant to break any of the rules

@sirhenrythe5th Well, I never thought updating would make it work in a different way, I mean, I assumed it was code fixing and that kind of stuff

@ifailflash It was probably customised in a way that was not safe to update. Impossible to know as we didn't make it.
